Day one: rear body parts& muffler is down.. and the interior is out..
Day two: fuel tank & rear brakes down..
Day three: rear suspensio...fuuuuck..
electric impact wrench and 800newtonmeters, broken the trailing arm bolts both.

I had only one choice: cut the suspension bolts between the body and the trailing arm's bushing.

day four: I welded a washer then a 19mm nut to the trailing arm bolt's stump.. then the cutted bolts slowly comes out about 1-1,5hours/side..

Just stumbled upon this, I too have a GS that I converted, and now ironically am converting back in a different manner 52 turbo set ups later. In my opinion I always was a fan of the 1ga side skirts. Less common makes it stand out a bit and you see far more 1ga Talons than Eclipse’s. However it comes down to taste, if you like the Talon ones better by all means roll with them.

What chemicals are you using? Have you tried ospho? Converts iron Oxide to to iron phosphorus almost instantly..pretty cool stuff.
BTW your car is on my calendar right now..

Using a phosphoric acid based rust remover and converter.. we don't have and i dont know ospho but i think this maybe same working concept.
But I brushed the rust through days, sometimes weeks, but the fluid can the rusted steel converted to clean steel, like on the first pic the lower left piece... but a dropped, becouse that piece was too thin... rust eated up almost the full thickness.. I did make a new one rather :D

Then cleaned up the rust's little remains with wire disc on the angle grinder.. and got 3 layers of special epoxy based rust converter&primer, called Brunox.
The orange "paint" is the motip's weldable red oxyde primer. Used it on the new pieces inner side too..

Okey long time no post..
Penguin is almost "done".. just needs a rear brake caliper renovation...
