Well took longer than planned but finally got some more done. The cam bolt for the trailing arm was froze in the passenger side arm so had to go pick this little guy up.

Started easing n the way back to the house… this evening after dinner the weather was decent so decided to get to work and cut this bolt off.

Finally! So got the trailing arm out of the way and noticed that the end looked a little rough but the flap of rubber was in the way so cut it off and this is what I found

This thing is pretty beat up where the piece for the ate kit needs to go. I’m seriously questioning if I should attempt to try to fix this or bite the bullet and have the arms chopped and made into a tubular piece.
I need to get one of those little sawzalls. The big one is nice, but that little one looks like it would work well for a lot of things.

And I agree, that toe arm does look pretty rough.

Well small update post:

So the end of my toe arm was destroyed so I abandoned the idea of the ate kit. Decided to contact Paul at natfab to have him tube mine. Only to find out that on top of the end being destroyed there were rust holes that I didn’t see 😅

So the arms on the car that I’ve went 1.4 60’s with were basically trash. Thankfully I found a spare set I forgot I had. They were a little crusty but in better shape overall (no holes LOL)

Had bushing sleeves froze on them and the surface rust was bad LOL. Got the sleeves cut off, rust wire wheeled off best I could and then modded them to work with my wilwoods.
They’re now ready to be shipped off to Paul to get tubed and powdercoated.

Once I get them back I already have new bearings and seals to put them back together with. Until then I’ve got a couple things to get done to it as well. Plan is to move the post pump filter to the back of the car for easier access and I need to finish my nitrous bottle heater install as well.

Got a little package from Motion Raceworks last night

Got to figure out my lower intercooler situation now. The silicone coupler is in the way of putting the bumper exit in. Not sure if I can push it on the pipe anymore or if I’m gonna have to redo the lower intercooler piping and do some sort of clamp connection.

I’m torn between the lps alphalocs and the vibrant hd clamps is I go that route. Thoughts?

I like the sucker.........:)
The parts are looking great!

I would like to side exit one of my cars also but I still have PS and that stuff gets in the way. :(

Well first test fit of the bumper exit didn’t go as planned LOL

Gonna have to modify it a little which I honestly planned on when I bought it since it came off a turbo that was a v band mount instead of t3. Thankfully I have a few fabricator buddys.

Did get to see about what it’s gonna look like though. Pretty excited to get it on there. On the bright side I was able to move some stuff around and make the lower pipe fit better so no need to change it yet.

Also decided while I had the hood up to throw my mishimoto radiator cap on

Also picked up a new front o2 sensor from work as well to toss on since I don’t know how old the one is that I have on there currently

I’ll get some more pics when we get the exhaust cut and fixed up and fitting right.

Weekend update:

So it turns out that I don’t have to cut this exhaust to make fit. I was running into the dipstick tube and that was making it kick over

Thankfully I had a new dipstick tube and bent it to fit. (Need to get pics of how it’s bent up)

BC7D0251-6659-4F54-844E-499B25978206.jpeg

Next is making a spacer to get a bolt into the hanger. Also need to mark where I need the front o2 sensor to put the bung in. But I do have a little clip for the time being

I have a couple "altered" dipsticks. We just have to "make" them work with us!!! ;)

Got a few things done to the ole girl after work last night.

First got the old exhaust off since it wasn’t going to be used anymore. Pulled my wideband o2 out then decided to figure out where to put the front o2 sensor.

While I was at it I snagged a pic of how I bent the dipstick.

So I pulled the bumper exit off and noticed that the alignment lip was causing the flange not to seal and was leaking so decided to take my flapper wheel and knock it down.

With that done it was time to put more holes in the pipe.

Now to have one of my buddies weld the O2 bung in and it’ll be set.

Did get an update from paul as well on my trailing arms. Mine should be the next set in the jig!

Few more updated pics.

O2 bund is welded in. Put the exhaust back on for its final time. Next is to get the hole cut in the bumper and put the trim ring on.

Also just got an update from paul at Natfab. Arms are in the jig

Should have another update on them in a couple days.

Trailing arms have been delivered!

@NatFabLLC did such an amazing job on these and no picture does them justice. Also hooked me up with some coozies that I’ve already been putting to use LOL. Can’t wait to get them on and get the car rolling again.

My sweet ass coozies paul sent me

7ADC8F9C-6051-47E4-B532-BEF22CC9F1B0.jpeg

Decided to throw my antilagracing caliper brackets on while I had them on the bench. Couldn’t do much else as it started storming and the power went out.

Small update:

Been sick all last week so haven’t had a chance to work on the car much. I did start getting the bearings popped into the arms. The outer bearings I think I’m gonna have to pull back out as they’re not sitting right.
1D2C313D-552E-4665-B14E-507D50916972.jpeg

Got a bearing splitter form work and got the old bearing off the hubs as well

9B5F58CA-755B-4383-AA6D-C0AF579261A8.jpeg

I also decided that the old rusty lower strut mounting bolt wasn’t going to cut it. So I decided to hit evospec performance up for a set of their titanium bolts to put in. My god these things are light LOL. Both new bolts weigh less than one of the old bolts

I’ve got a meeting for work Saturday but I’m gonna try to finally get these arms on the car. Will get some install pics when I work on it.
