My friend has bought MT 255/50/16 and mounted them on fd rims.. Car is running agx"s with tien springs.. Work that has to be done was 3/4 spacers in front and 1/2 spacers in back with arp extended wheel studs.. expensive not to mention it was 800 dollors in rubber..Now do you think the MT 235/60/15 strapped on a rota slipstream would of been a better choice?? Would fitment been less work?? both tires are 26" tall only thing the 255 has is width on the other tire choice...

I run 245/50/16 no spacers. My wheels are 16x8 but not fd wheels. If you choose to do the 235's run a 50 series.. I think a 60 would look a little grandmaish

the 235 60 is going to hook up better, it's got more sidewall flex. That matters exponentially more than how a tire looks. Any specific reason you want to go with drag radials over Hoosier QTPs (both 16" wheels and 26" overall dia)? The hoosier are better in every way: about 40lb lighter total rotating weight (HUGE), softer on the driveline, and will hook up better. If your going to run the drag radials on the street, they will be heat cycled quickly and won't hook up well anyway once they harden from continuous street driving, so that's kind of a waste.

back in the day some DSM road racers ran 255/50/16 tires....for the drags I think you're adding more weight and resistance than anything VS. gaining any real gain for launching. just my .02. On a 16" wheel I'd stay closer to the 225/50 range......
