i have a pair of blitz side skirts that i plan on putting on my car soon and i'm looking for suggestions on the best way to do it? what kind of screws/rivets? and how/where do i get them. thanks
 
Use a air powered rivet gun and rivet the side skirts to the car. You want to make sure you get the rivets all the way in, dont want that fiberglass falling out in the street, be a big mess. I would suggest after the kit is riveted on you do the fiberglass work and mold the sideskirts in. There are tons of guides to doing the fiberglass work, just take your time and do it because it looks so much better. Dont keep it with the rivets hanging out and a bunch of dumb looking body lines like most people do because to me it just makes the car look "cheap" or "ghetto". Just my opinion on the molding.
 
If you do decide to mold, be prepared to spend lots of time getting everything to mold properly (especually in the door jamb) maby that was just my garbage ... badly fitting e-bay blitz side skirts LOL ... I would Highly recommend fiberglass jelly also.... anything elce on a vertical surface will just run down and make for a HUGE mess.
 
I used lots of little sheet metal screws to hod it in place and used Duramix adhesive to permanently affix the skirt to the car. Once the adhesive has dried, remove the screws and mold the skirts to the body. It takes some time, but the end results are more than worth it.
 
I dont know about modling on our cars though. Our 2g unibody has alot of flex in it. Have you ever notice when you jack up the car on one side , the hatch binds and has hard time opening? I even have the sway bars and this still happens (man If feel bad for the RS guys, just kidding LOL). This would make me think you would need to fix cracks later on. But then again im just speculating.
 
Fiberglass side skirts do have enough flex to them to not crack with movements of the car, it's never been a problem with mine... and I even used bondo only to attach them on for awhile... The real pain is parking, driveways, and corners haha.

It sounds like your DSM has ALOT more flex then mine though man I've jacked one side several times before and never had the trunk binding problem, and I have full stock suspension with no sway bars at all.

...or maby it's just bad for the car to have 3 tires on pavement and the 4th above knee level LOL j/k
 
well it binds on the wing not the body. So im only taking about 1/8" here. LOL

I've had my skirts molded for almost 4 years now, not one crack or anything, and it has been jacked up more than a few times.
