From the pictures it look really good, mine did feel abit rough but it helped keep the paint by giving it somthing to grab onto

it all looksreally good man, iv been doing the same thing only making it a combo of the grey leather and black, iv got grey from the door panels down, including seats, and black on the dash and down the center and from shoulders up, jsut something a little different

iv been using krylon paint for plastic and i have to say its worked great, it dries in less than an hour and keeps the texture of the peices

yeah the paint i used im very happy with it. alls i did was clean with alcohol, and spray a few coats on. no prime or clear coat. and put it back in my car only took a few hours.

I dropped a wrench on one of the panels and it scraped some of the paint off, I just threw on an extra coat or two and reinstalled..

yeah. so far its good, because when i drive my arm rests on the pad on the console and i dont have any signs of wear or anything, as long as you dont pick it with your fingernails you should be alright

I'd strongly recommend against taking the seats apart. I did this about two weeks ago thinking that dying would be the easier route - BAD MISTAKE. Luckily I tried my passenger seat first and if you look in my garage it's still totally apart. There were many nuts, bolts, etc just to get all of the fabric off and would be a literal pain in the butt to get back together. I'd recommend, if you must have the black seats, to get seat covers as the cheapest route followed by a set of use seats and finally a set of brand new seats. Because of my little project, I'm looking at getting a nice set of racing seats and in the meantime, I'm rolling on one seat and it gives my car a nice "race" look.

    See my comment above...
I dyed the passenger seat and it didn't come out as dark as I wanted not to mention that it is a total pain in the butt getting all of the cloth/fabric off.

I wonder if there are any 1Gs that come in black interior as my current gray interior is a NO GO.

i did this mission/project to my whole interior after i wrecked my 2g 10 hours after having it out of the shop with a brand new fully built motor not even 30 miles on the build. Thankfully it was all cosmetic damage but after i ripped the front bumper back bumper side skirts and the right side mirror off in the accident i decided it was time for the all black interior to match the all black 2gb conversion i was putting on after the wreck. I followed a guide on interior restoration on supraforums i cant remember the member on here who linked me to it im pretty sure he is the guy that has "Crankwalker" and "boost gets you laid" on his valve cover/spark plug cover. His name might be DSM_BOY ? he did the awd conversion and he has one of the cleanest 2gs ive seen very very good guy. Ill look him up later but i followed his steps and i have not had one chip scratch scuff or fade since reinstalled. Only thing id advise is to just spring for new carpet or either find carpet from a part out or stock interiors dot com there is another website i have it saved to my favorites at home but the painting/dying the carpet id stay away from not only will it fade and wear out, wait till the winter if you drive your car in the winter and you get the snow/salt mixture on there one drop will take it almost back to the color it was. Enough rambling ill post pics when i get off

How many cans do you think it will take to do the center counsel, doors, and dash? I think 4 should be good, but I dont want to run out since I cant buy sem paint locally. Im deciding to paint my dash so it all looks pretty uniform in color when painted. If worst comes to worst Ill just swap with a oem black dash.

I used 2 cans and have some left over. All i did was the read speaker panels and upper plastic piece by the window, center console, the kick panels, and the plastic pieces on the door.

has anyone tried Krylon Fusion paint at least on the plastic pieces? seems to be a little easier to get a hold of rather than the spray on fabric dye.

And this crap is holding up? I've used it before and it would peal off like dead skin! :( Wish I could find something that will actually dye the vinyl. I have a black GSX with fully gray interior! :(
