Hey guys! I've been wanting an all black interior since I saw a member here do it them self. Right now I'm rocking the tan/black interior but just started my all black conversion... bought a few dark gray panels to work with just in case i mess up LOL, here are a few pictures

so far I've done the rear window panels, the side kick panels, the visor mirror, and garage door opener

nice, its looking good , good luck on your mission

Thanks, I just bought the rear seats in the oem black leather. Also found the seat belt set in black. I will post pictures of the install sometime next week

How did you go about splitting the visors apart? I recovered my headliner in tan suede and I couldn't figure out how to open the visors without mutilating them.

97 GSX 97 shove a screw in the slit along the visor and do it in muliple spots. Eventually you will be able to pry them apart. You will hear alot of cracking and popping. Don't worry it is not the sun visor breaking it is just the glue breaking off of the plastic. Hope that helped.

Here are some pictures of the black seat belts and an ebay antenna I got for 15 bucks

Its looking pretty good so far, love the black seat belts. The grey ones are too blah. let us know how long the rattle can smell lingers. make sure to try and use a UV resistant clear or high temp clear to keep the panels from peeling and let us know how long the paint holds. Cant wait to see the finished product. keep it up.:hellyeah:

thanks, I still need to buy the clear coat stuff, I'm not sure witch one to buy... witch one is better, the high temp or the UV resistant?

yeah lemme know about that paint cause mine already started peeling and it sucks. my headliner and visors are all holding up great though! The sunroof was the hardest part cause of that damn plastic strip that holds the headliner up around the hole.

I would use the UV resistant stuff. The interior doesn't get too hot, but it does get beat down by the sun all day. The UV resistant clear will help protect against sun damage.

I found some stuff at a arts n crafts store to use as a clear coat. The seats belts I found on ebay just by luck. 50 bucks for the whole set.

where is a good place to look for UV blocking clear coat?

rust oleum actually makes a UV protective clearcoat. I got mine at the local Home Depot where I also got my paint and primer. ill go look at what its called right now. I have my headliner done and the sun roof shade and the visors. I did those last year, but never really finished the rest of the interior. I used spray on truck bed liner before for plastic pieces, it resists scratches really well so its awesome for the connector pieces for the visors, but it didn't hold up to the sun so I'm going with the rustoleum for this, then I have to do my carpet and re appholster my seats. I also wanna delete the rears. I was thinking about cutting out a "bench" out of plexiglass and covering that with whatever I use for carpeting. Not too sure about that yet though. Keep me updated with your project! Oh by the way what are you gonna do about the Oh Shit handle?

here it is

Ive had a few cans of the rustoleum vynal paint sitting around for a while, i too was going to do an all black interior till i realized i cant afford black seats. ive been skeptical to rip the cloth off, dye it with rit dye, and put it back. I hate being poor.
