Hey I got a question for you Michigan DSMers. I'm from Seattle but I'm going to U of M next year. I just Visited Ann Arbor, Detroit, and East Lansing and I noticed that so many of the cars are rusting through! Im going to bring my '97 GSX with me when I go to school, and Im worried about how these cars stand up to the elements out there? and how do they do in the winter?
I live about 10 minutes from UofM AnnArbor campuses.
As for the roads, its Washtenaw county and they use salt.
FYI it is hard as hell to find a 2G here without strut rust, and the Salt doesn't help it.
Our past 4-5 winters have not been that bad though. Hardly any salt was used last winter.
Just throw some good all-season tires on it, and if/when they salt the roads, wait a few days then power wash the wheel wells, underside, body, etc.
