Car hasn't broken down in 8 months.
Driving home tonight I do a wot third gearl pull. Car feels good and it's holding 15lbs just fine, suddenly wham! Car shuts off, so I'm thinking I blew off another intercooler pipe like I've done 50 times before. Get to the side of the road and the pipes are fine. Checked the endtanks on the ic and they seem okay. Start the car and it's clearly not running of the mas air. Sputters and smokes, will barely rev. Behaves just like it does when I blow an ic pipe. Decide to try and convert to non turbo to get the car home. Pretty sure I did it right with the intake pipe hooked up to the tb but it still wouldn't run off the mas air. I say screw it and drive it home with an open throttle body. Car limps it home okay.
Yes I know to do a boost leak test. But why wouldn't the car run with the mas air hooked directly to the throttle body???
Did my mas air fail? Will it do it without warning and suddenly?
