Ok, so I have 3 inch turbo back exhaust from VRS with the o2 elimnator and I also have dnp exhaust manifold both attached to a stock 14b. So heres the problem my o2 housing that came from VRS bends out so much that I cant fit any oil filter on there (I've tried the evo one and it doesnt fit). I called VRS and let them know whats wrong and they said that it looks like the o2 housing is bent over as far as it can be and that they only have problems when people use non stock manifolds or non stock housings. Basically I dont think they are gonna do anything.

I really doubt the dnp manifold is at fault cause I'm pretty sure they put the turbo at the stock location (http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=1342&). I want to know if there is any one else running this setup and if there is if they have any problems. Also is there a o2 housing I can buy that will mate up with the vrs down pipe? I am thinking of just buying an evo 3 o2 and calling it a day.

I have a oil filter relocator on for now but I already burnt through some oil hoses and almost seized the block so I need to figure this out(glad i decided to get gas when I did or i wouldnt of seen what was happening).

Let me know if anyone has some idea!

Thanks!

Ive heard of this problem. When i did my motor rebuild I had the crappy water cooled oil filter housing that was a complete mess. I put the oil filter housing off of a 2g 95TSI on my motor. Its real small and out of the way compared to the 1g. Putting this housing should give you enough room for your 02 housing and would be cheaper than buying a whole new 02 housing.

Ive never heard that the two oil filter housings were different but Ill look into it, any other ideas?

Seriously, search I think you will find something. My DSM mechanic recomended that I put one on, so in the future if I run a big turbo set up I can fit anything I want. The problem you are running into is what he was talking about I think. They are way smaller and out of the way.

Yes that is what I have on my car. Or very close and all I have is a 95 oil housing. Works great and wont cost you $80 from the junk yard. Actually I think my housing is from a 95 Hyundai Elentra

that link says that it doesnt have any faculty for oil cooling though, so would i have to buy an oil cooler on top of that

Im pretty sure the 6bolt filter is the fat short one and the 7bolt is the tall skinny one but Ive tried them both, and like i wrote above i am using a oil filter relocator kit but I already burnt through some oil lines.

The housing im talking about should work. You do not need the oil cooler. Most DSM's do not have it. The stock one usaully leaks and is crappy as hell. Just plug the lines and you should be ok. You might not even have the cooler. I would insert a pic of mine but I dont know how to insert a pic. I must be an idiot if I cant figure that out.

Most DSM's I know of have oil coolers. I would never run my car without one. Maintaining proper oil temps are very important in giving your motor proper lubrication.

yaaaa, im gonna be driving through a desert so I might see if the radiator one will fit on there or if that doesnt work im just gonna run some lines to an oil cooler.

I thought only the 90-91's had the cooler in the housing, and some early 92's. I may be wrong. I run about 2 degrees hotter than I did with the cooler. So yes it runs a little hotter but not much. All I know is the cooler I had was a very bad design and would just cause leaks.

The 1990's had an external cooler, and the rest had it in the housing. At least, that's what I've been told.
