Recently switched my a1000 setup for a 4303
I made this switch because:
-Complete rebuilds available for not much money
-Designed to run all the time, full time, with no step down controller
-Reportedly doesn't heat up fuel
-Higher flow volume
Impression
-Ran it 50 miles on just a few gal of gas without any issues, but the pump was notably warm when I stopped to check it. This isn't a very good study, I never purposefully checked my a1000 in these conditions. Magnafuel recommends using a fuel cooler, but I couldn't find many people on other forums using one.
-I swapped out a 30a relay for a 40a one. These pull about 28 amps @80psi. My volts during a pull is 0.1v lower than with the a1000, but Ill take it.
-Its way quieter than my a1000. Mixed feelings about this
-No issues using a stock return line and 6an pressure regulator (able to be 40psi no problem, I didn't see how low it would go)
-Only complaint, other than the heat, is that the pump is designed to receive a larger feeding than sending line (issues with cavitation/overflowing apparently); I just swapped a 10 for a 12an bung on my JMF tank and things have been fine. Alternatively you could do a 10an feed and 8an send line, whatever.
