MAF mod question.

Ok well since i pulled my turbo today I figured since my "friend" didn't do the free mods he said he did i would.. so i removed the Silancer but i duno about removeing the lower honey comb..

is this REALY a good idea? or realy improve anything (is it noticeable on light or heavy mods?)

and does it alow any un-measured air into the intake? as my friend already STUPIDLY ran it for 3min without the MAF connected i dont want ANY more in there...

i mean it has to be there for a reasion right???

Ill sell you mine if you want. it is hogged out pretty good except the large one is still there. Most 1G's run fine with it removed, just leave the others. It is also a pretty noticable mod as well... Im sure later down in your upgrade path youll have either a 2G or a translater or something so I wouldnt worry about it to much.
