I used to have just a flat piece of carbonfiber mounted in there, but it was hard to read the gauges and afc at that angle. So I figured why not whip up a custom mount.
I orginally covered it with nice italian leather, but the curves are a bit too tight. I have to recover it with heat forming vinyl so ignore the wrinkles in the leather ;)..
This was my test for this fleece before i make my kick panel pods this weekend. The fleece is a bit thick for this job though. It still worked out nicely.

Now I can mount my water temp and trans temp there. Sweet :thumb:

first off i have to say very nice job, what kind of resin did you use, and where did you get it? cost? How did you mount it in the glove box too? I may try and make some glass molds this summer, i want something completely custom in my interior, but great job

very nice job, it is far away to look at the gauges and whatnot but those are the gauges that you don't look at all the time anyway. keep it up

Thanks for the compliments. I used marine resin. I don't remember where I aquired it. I made it all from the scrap of the sound system install. If it cost me $5 to make its a lot. Its mounted with L brackets and velcro for easy removal.
Actually it isn't far at all to read the guages. Its just a quick glance over to see all is in order. ;)

nice job on the glove box mount.......but my question is where did you get that PDA mount? I've been looking everywhere for a good one and have come up with nothing. I like the way yours sits in the car....let me know..

Thanks

Thanks ;) Actually its just the cover of the palm slid between the vents and dash. Works great, can be removed with nothing left on the dash and best of all, it was free :thumb:

Here's a closer pic:

ahhhh very good use of your ingenuity, and great idea.....cept I have a leather case for mine so that won't work. I'll come up with something tho. Thanks

Looks really good man. Getting into to fiberglass is somehting that I am going to do this summer, so hopefully my result will be something like yours.

Hmmmm.. there is about 5 hrs time in the fabrication. Unfortunately my spare time is nill during my motorcycle race season. I have a lot of down time during the winter. Mayby I could entertain offers to build up some during that time. I really appreciate the interest though. :thumb:

id love to see your stereo installation too

The sound system install seems as though I'll never finish it. I used some substandard non matching tan vinyl that i'm very unimpressed with. I used 3M spray glue which didn't get along with the fiberboard the panels are made from. So the first hot day bubbled the vinyl. I'm seriously thinking of refinishing the panels to paint rather then vinyl. We shall see. Here are a couple pics of the install so far.
