So I am a newb to DSMs and was wondering how to tell if a 6 bolt has LSD if its in a 2g shell, seeing as the cars VIN cant tell me. Could I go by the tranny/motor VIN? I did google this and found a few answers that were varying and would like at least one solid answer.

-Thanks in advance

Are you wondering if your trans has an LSD? (limited slip differential) or the rear end? If its the rearend you are asking about then they would be a 3 or 4 bolt rear. A 6 bolt would be referring to a 1st gen engine.

If my trans has LSD (its a 1g trans). I have the VIN and such off of it as well if there is a way to identify using numbers from the VIN.
