low vaccum question

no vacuum is a mechanical action that happens when the piston is moving down causing a low pressure when the throttle body is closed

OK. So chances are I just have a vac leak somewhere.
BTW, how should the vac gauge read when going from idle to about 2500RPM?

About 10 inHg, however when I open the throttle up the vaccum drops. Is that norm on a non turbo?

You have a vac leak. Stock beshould be ~18in hg.. when you give throttle, yes vac should go down (closer to 0). Build a boost leak tester, and put it where your filter is.. same prinicapl even tho your non turbo. Listen for the leak.

You should have 18-22inHg if you have a healthy motor. You probably have a vac leak. Check the pcv valve if it hasnt been replaced. Then all the hose connections to the intake manifold.

Ok I found out that I forgot to put a seal back on the map sens, I'm going to go through and put clamps on all the vac lines that I do have. Now on the valve cover there are two vac ports the drivers side port I just have a mini filter connected, however the one closest to the pass side normaly went to the intake man. That port is nonexistant on the new man so should I just plug that port?

This is how the set is so far.

You can plug it but that filter on the side is just going to get oil soaked with a,turbo appl. You need to get a catch can and route your pcv system back into the intake.

^This. And i suggest a Boomba 3/8 .25Psi check valve. The low cracking pressure makes them ideal for a "PCV" valve.

Is this a standard or aftermarket part? Also can I get one at like autozone or do I need to check a peticular site? Thanks again.
