Gentlemen,
i've been congering up a dat for the possible meet and cruise, im aiming somewhere around last part of april, early may........ lets throw around some dates and see what we can come up with

staples call centre is hiring man. i make mad money doin that. and i'll check and see what i come up with.

There is no way in hell I will be ready. Maybe end of May?

Whatever day you pick you better make sure it doesn't conflict with a street legal race at SIR otherwise I for sure will not show up.

Hey Roly, I don't know what you are hoping to make (obviously more is better haha) but at NAPA we are looking for drivers. Its a really easy gig, hop in one of our trucks, take parts from our store to the mechanics we supply. Wage isn't the greatest from what I remember (i think like $8.75 or $9) but the upside for a DSMer is the discount. Anything and everything we sell at 10% above cost. It has saved me thousands haha.

Its not that bad. When breaking the nut free you will need a Breaker bar for sure, a little socket wrench will not provide you enough leverage. And also, getting them out of the hub isnt that bad, Just use a rubber mallet, or even some wood and a regular hammer. Whatever you do, do not hit the axle with the hammer directly as it will mushroom the threads making it nearly impossible to put the axle nut back on after the fact. And when you pull the axles out of the transmission you will need a long pry bar to pop them out since they have a sur-clip holding them in place.

Any more questions let me know.

come on man. 8.75 to 9 bucks. thats not enough to spend on a dsm. staples im pulling in close to 18 or 19.

So an update if anyone cares... I took my car to Mitsubishi (you may have seen it on the back of a flatdeck) for the safety. So far so good... some small bullshit with the lights and tires but easy fix. And it turns out that my interior wiring problem that i asked about earlier in the forum was attributed to the fuses and same with the alternator! So as of now im all in for spring meet just gimme the date and place. Looking forward to getting to know some people who share an interest! Unlike some people who think these cars are ugly bubbles<--#### them! I just want to know though... how big of a job is changing the gasket out in these cars. The head and pan shouldnt be hard but the rear seals n such?

Roly if you get this before the end of the day staples has a job fair goin on right now. Names Matt Vanin if they ask how you found out.

godless man that sounds good. My car was over $900 to get it saftied haha

Damn I wish I woulda got it! But anywho.. I'm headed there tomorrow, my cashflow has been strapped and I can't fix my car because I can't get the axles out. I need to take it to my mech and get him to do the axles. Or I need a compressor and an impact.

DSM_ Roly, do you have a torch or anything you can heat up those axle nuts with? If so, heat em' up and get a stick of door-ease, heat up the nut and when its hot, push the stick of door ease on it, when hot it should suck in the wax, you'll be able to get the nuts off by hand after that. (bit of an exagerration there, but they will be hella easy to get off) I just did that today with mine, it works like a charm.

I think you can get door ease at any parts store or maybe home depot or somethin. I had a stick layin around the house and i cant remember where i got it from. You goin to SIAST in moose jaw for automotive service tech? Im goin there right now takin the pre employment course. I finish in may.
