There are some minor differences between the ALDL cables for GM's and what you need for your DSM. It might work but I wouldn't count on it. Also that cable mates to a PC so it won't work with a Palm bases logger without a null modem adaptor if it works at all. Use the search to find the group buy going on for DSM ALDL cables.

But the DSM ALDL cable is what i need for a Laptop hookup?

Since I don't know exactly what cable your looking at now, I'll just describe the two issues.

You need a ALDL adaptor for DSM's. The connector for the car and the circutry for converting between RS232 and the ECU data line are specific to MMC style ECU's.
You need to specify PC or Palm since pins 2 and 3 will be reversed between the two setups.

It has ports for both.

If I'd known people were willing to pay $50 for these I'd mass produce the PC board I did for me. I could easily do better packaging than that one.
