I searched this topic many different ways but couldnt find anything. I was wondering if you could somehow install lights behind the "Eclipse" middle part of the 2G rear. I know alot of people remove the middle part and just paint it but i was wondering if i could install some lights behind it or something. Just wondering ... thanks!

yeah you could do it. It would be some trimming and a little bit of wire running but other than that it should be relatively simple. You would need to trim out a hole on each side about a third of the way down (i would use a hole saw or unibit to do this) and then just find a small reverse light or brake light blulb and put it in there. Of course this would make the entire tail light up and the ECLIPSE stay black but trying to do it the other way would be a lot of work.

Oh yeah you can just tap into the running lights that run back to either rear tail light to draw your power that way its quick and easy. Make sure to use connectors and all that though, dont just rig the stuff in there because you dont want it all shorting out all the time.

someone had put in many many leds in it and said it cost him about 600$ in supplies and countless labor hours. It looked nice as hell. He also went to put LEDs in the taillights aswell. Dont know the name Ill look around.

a good thing to do would be to put something over the front of the bulbs so that it doesnt hot spot like that. Also a little trick that is cheap. Line the inside of the center piece, well the back side that is toward the trunk, with aluminum foil. Use any kind of tape to stick it in place. This will reflect the light you put in there more evenly and also make it quite a bit brighter. You wont have any scattering of the light so all the light is bounced out of the lens.

That would be azdave

Whoa, I don't know about that blue. It'd look alot better if it were red.

Yeah i totally agree. I dont know why he'd choose just blue over red. In my area we would also get pulled over in a heart beat with anything like that.

heres what i did with mine

The hotspotting is the biggest "imperfection" i see. I am sure you could figure something out to spread the light out and make it look perfect, thats the only complaint i have but i think they still look awesome even with the few hot spots across the ECLIPSE. That looks good i like it.

To do it like I did is a hella lot of work but the results are second-to-none. Here is a link of how I did the center section. I eventually changed the circuit board to a higher output design. See the next link.
