When doing a valve job I want to bleed the lifters right?

Fill empty container with diesel/solvent. Throw all lifters in. Get a paperclip and stick it all the way down each lifter until you contact the check valve and lifter can be depressed. Do this a few times to each HLA. Let them soak.

Empty container and hose each HLA with brake cleaner. Fill that container again but this time with clean oil. Same procedure, pump each HLA... soak etc.

Install each HLA, but BEFORE installing the cams take that paperclip and depress each HLA, in order to release the oil in each HLA. Otherwise it can cause each of the valves to be slightly open because air can compress, oil cannot...
