Brought this over to the fab side od the shop and finished mocking up the parachute mount, and mocked the carbonetics front bumper up, wiped down years worth of dust. Shes not looking too bad. Still tons of work and thousands of dollars left before shes running again. Shes been down since spring 2015 and is in need of a motor rebuild, wireing harness chop and tuck. Tube front end. Cage, and some paint. Dont mind the wheel gap. Coilovers are at max height, and the motor and trans are out, and car is gutted, so shes sittin tall.

Bummer to see her go, but I can blame you! Long as you keep supplying weld porn and great products for the dsm community in addition to all your other great work, I won't chastise you haha. I am jelly of your Evo, love to have one myself!

How are you liking Arizona out of curiosity? I've been contemplating a move there if I could transfer my current job, and though I'm not a fan of the heat, I'd like to be able to work on my projects for more of the year.

Heat sucks LOL but otherwise I love it

Ugh me too... I'm a big, hairy beast and I just cannot do 75+ degrees, it might kill me on prolonged stays...and I'm too stingey to use a/c in my car haha

It was 120° fir a week straight once. Can’t say I got alot of work done that week haha

On a side note, I was going to continue the DSM legacy by using ecmlink in my evo, but unfortunateky I got a 9 with mivec.. and a 6 speed (I know) and ecmlink can’t control mivec. So my options are swap to an 8 head and harness, and run link, or step up to AEM infinity. I’m a dealer for AEM so I can get good prices. And I think it’s the most similar stand alone out there to ecmlink as far as log graphing and tuning goes.. only thing I’m little iffy on is that there hasnt been a software update in 3 years.. but if anyone else is looking to make the switch hit me up.:)

120* sounds terrible...

What about haltech? I'm not familiar with all the other ems' out there, but I know I've seen people using dbw and vvt options with them. Of course they're probably vastly different from ecmlink, as well as more costly I assume vs ecmlink and arm.

Either way, I'm sure the aem will do the job, and I bet you'll have fun with the 9!

Nice purchase congrats and good luck. On sunday i will pray in church for your transmission. Lol j/k looks good keep it clean.

Infinity has all of that, it's really light years ahead of a haltech.

that good to know! do you know if there are other differences making AEM a more sensible choice? ive always heard haltech was the bees kneez, but once again, dont know enough about either personally.

Things are only the "beez knnez" because people hype them up. Compare the feature set of the aem vs the halltech. Soon I'll have a page up for the WSS Abacus. It's even better, but it's not for everyone.

The problem is they havnt done software updates in years. But maybe thet just means it works well as it is. It looks like the closest experience to ecmlink I can find. And AEM is american. So most likely go that route.

im also a haltech dealer, but looking at videos of the GUI. It does look good, so does link G4. But AEM has a pretty easy setup to understand, and HQ is in california, and they also do training seminars :)
