knocing/ping when letting off gas... need help

When I drive the car everytime it revs past 1000prms-1400 or so, or when I let off the gas I have a metal pinging noise. It doesn't do it at idle or at higher revs though.
Could it be that my timing's off and the valves are hitting the piston?

Only way to figure it out, would be to check the timing, if it is off then that may damnn well be your problem.
