Its bothered me for a long time that Kevin at Kiggly racing gets overshadowed most of the time by a few of the red cars with very large budgets and parts that most could never afford when Kevins car uses much more factory parts and is not only an auto but a FWD car that is running insane 1/4 mile times that most rwd and awd guys couldn't imagine running.
Go to the shootout and stand in front of Kevins car for a few minutes (it will be out there in the open for you to see and take pictures of, not hidden) and Kevin (if he is in the area) or his awesome wife or one of his awesome kids will come right over to you and start talking about the car with you like you are part of the race team, these people love the scene, and they love people that love the scene, you also generally wont walk away without any questions you wanted having been answered and something to take away in your hand such as a can insulator or a key chain or some stickers as a sort of memento for free on Kevin's family's dime and they seem to not only be content to give these things out that most sell for money, but theu actually seem to enjoy giving things out!
Contrast this by being in the pit area of some of the other cars that seem to gather a cult like following and you will likely be met with no sight of the driver, usually they will be hiding in the trailer like they are some sort of professional athlete, you also wont have any questions answered, and you wont be walking away with a single thing for free, instead you will be met with rudeness, and the feeling that you are in the way and should get out of there so the glaring will stop, never will you be approached with a handshake or a smile.
Kiggly racing have been innovators, many of us have at least a few of Kevin's parts on our cars because they work and the value is there, they aren't bling parts that are overpriced, Kevin and his family do this because they love it, Kevin himself seems fairly shy at times, but I have seen him at the shootout give a free class on what he has learned about the auto transmission and the 4g63, has anyone from the other pits ever done that? not that I know of. I can go on and on and I will in the future, but what I am getting at is that this car is amazing, its a fwd running in the low 7's, Kevin is on instagram and sadly I have more followers than he does? I just found him the other day and noticed this, that is silly to me, but Kevin is not one to self promote or seek attention in any way from what I have witnessed, so lets get off our butts and support the awesome family behind that car by going on over to Instagram to congratulate them on the crazy numbers and all that they have done for the community, maybe he deserves to be on the home page once in a while even, he certainly has earned it!
