I just got a 99 Eclipse GS!!! I just wanted to open the floor to you guys and hear some of the things that you might do to it with a $5,000 budget.

your gonna get a lot of people telling you to get rid of it and buy a turbo car. don't listen to them. if you like really like this car turbo it, it will be worth it if you do it right and find inexpensive parts then it will work out fine.

Thanks guys, and i do love the car...can't sell it.
Do i need to get anything b4 the Hanh Turbo Kit if i want it to run smooth with no problems (crankwalk, etc.) or can i just get the Hanh turbo kit just like that?

I just bought an AEM Cold Air Intake Non-Turbo too...Blue, my fav. color ;)

O ####! I'm in freakin omaha, NE, theres like a 97-99 eclipse gst here every decade!
I'm just glad i got a 99 eclipse gs with low miles.
I'm thinkin bout gettin some headers......what else?
I'll get the turbos some other time, i just wanna enjoy a non-turbo moment for a while (psssh...yea, im crazy but there's no nice sport car performance shop i can just go to and get a turbo...dam nebraska).

Don't bother wasting your money on making it faster w/o a turbo because all the gains will be minimal. Go to www.hahnracecraft.com and look at their stuff.

I would check www.autotrader.com for low cost GST's and GSX's. Then spend the $150 on a plane ticket to BumFunk ND and get a car that already has what you want. And, no, this is not a slam, just a response to a question.

Good Call guys, i might just sell the new 99 eclipse i bought...seriously. Too bad, only had 9000 miles on it.
Could i get it to at least 200hp even with the minimal gains? no turbo that is. I know its not a lot, just a question.

If your going to substantially mod it, i'd recommend buying an AWD or buy a fwd 4G63...since it has been designed from the factory for boost. A Turbo420A is cool, but the money it's going to cost you to build the motor and throw a turbo kit on, you could be doing 12/13's in a GS-T/X. Just my .02, congrats on the car btw :dsm:
