Hello every one this first one may be a little long as I introduce myself ( I'm levi ) and give a back history on my ins and outs with these cars. Very long time lurker here without many posts. I'll try my best to remember and fill in gaps to where the current car is now.

Honestly i had just a wall of text here so i erased it and started over. The first time I ever saw a 1st gen I instantly fell in love it was in the early 90s and I was probably around 10. My first car I bought was a 1.8 auto eclipse gs at 15 yrs old and second was a bright yellow talon tsi when I was a senior in high school. Through shops not standing behind there work and warranties I ended up always working on my cars myself other than machine work.

Like any highschool aged kid I tried to go as fast as possible as cheap as possible, ended up cratering alot of motors and got rid of my tsi. About 5 years later my dad ended up with one and I traded him some work for it. Still didn't have any extra money and ended up dropping a valve and letting that car sit for about 10 years while I collected parts.

After I caged that car and started putting it together I realized it had at some point been in a wreck and the whole front of the car was tweaked bad. As luck would have it I found a new chassis on here that was local to me.

Found this car off the classifieds on here, better yet it was local. Had a 2.3 motor, a fresh Jack's transmission and a few bolt ons. Blown head gasket and lost interest led me to getting it for i believe 1800 dollars.

I believe this was 2019 got the car home and originally planned to just fix the head gasket and drive it while I slowly learned ecmlink and add some of the parts I had accumulated.

Head gasket was definitely the issue. Unfortunately I didnt like the heavy scores in the cylinder walls. Luckily I bought a back up motor from my brother. Buschur stage 3 block and head from around 2001. He bought it new and only had about 3000 miles on it.

Decided to take out the motor and throw all my parts at it right from the get go.

So I'm almost caught up with being current on the build. When I put it together I had a 2gb automatic set up ready to go but being a manual car originally with a brand new Jack's trans and very slightly used clutch I figured putting it together and teaching myself ecmlink tuning with a manual would be easier...

That didn't last long between not double checking the step of the flywheel and a very noob tune with the aluminum flywheel the rpms dropping between shifts I didn't enjoy driving the car as much as I thought I would. So I found a precision converter from rix racing, put a translab shift kit, kiggly 5 clutch pack and an ipt end clutch kit and the biggest derale cooler i could fit. Didn't have a any wiring to go with the tranny so did the kiggly manumatic write up with a b&m ratchet shifter.

Not a big fan of the weight the auto added so I put on some carbonetics doors, tce front drag brakes and bride rep bucket seats. Also did a wrap with 3m satin frozen vanilla white to hide the carbon fiber doors and just because I've always loved the panda 1gs

Almost up to date to what I've been up to this winter. This last spring and summer I got the car alot closer to my end goals along with fixing little things along the way.

Tuned it enough to run a quarter mile on the street with lowish boost 27-28 psi. Ran an 11.4@121.

Not too bad considering d.a. was around 7900. Figured it was time to get a rear toe eliminator so I contacted @NatFabLLC and he came through within two weeks with tubular rear arms. Figured since I was in there I might as well replace the brakes and bearings too.

I apologize for the editing. Posting updates on my phone and I try to go back and edit them but never turns out the way I intend. May have to start using the laptop.
