But stock for stock, the 2g head is better for low end power. You can call that an upgrade for a 1g.But if you are using higher revs, the 1g head is the better option.

I don't really consider downgradin things like CC or PS upgrades. Well power steering maybe, but only because you'll gain a few horse's. However there's really no performance advantage to getting rid of the cruise control.

They are modifications as well. Hence the thread title "junkyard mods".

In talks i had with Justin and Gabe the other night, it was stated the 2g head is better to port.

Weight and weight... I wish there was a cheap manual rack for a 2g so I could remove my power steering, not only would it free up some weight and room in the engine bay it's also one less thing that can leak.

:dsm:

I am shocked no one has said 2g pistons for the 1g. Or did I miss it?

Wasn't someone looking into a Mr2 steering rack for the 2g power steering delete? I do remember it being somewhere in here.

I didn't see that anyone answerted about the 1g cas on the 2g car.. Well the short end of it is there's a bit more wiring cut-up and soldering than most people seem to want to do to start with and 12nd i don't think it fits on the head as the 2g CAS is quite different and I think the bolt/studs are in different locations but i don't have a 2g head here to check that with.

Pretty good list so far, i think at somet point though the things are going to get so small and negilgable that they'd only be worth swapping to say you did it forthe hell of it

3g Eclipse, 7g and 8g Galant - Wiper fluid nozzles - for 2gs (not sure about 1gs) :D

Seriously. They spray in a nice fan instead of 2 jets that are often clogged with wax and shoot over the car. LOL

1g oil dipstick for 2g. Same length, but gets rid of the plastic handle that is prone to breaking at the worst time.

Again totally debatable.ported to hell they both should perform about the same.unless the velocity of the 2g head is kept, then the 2g head would be the best option.but still all debatable.everyone has there pros and cons.

Turboglenn: thanks for responding about the CAS, its funny that since I'm a relative newb that people don't respond thinking I don't have something to contribute. Oh here is a link to the process of adapting the 1g cas to a 2g with or without a 6 bolt swap. And you're right, without including evo parts the list becomes less and less an improvement and more so a"i swapped x part on my car to be unique". RRE Instructions

Added Base model doors for both gens since it reduces weight. Anybody know of anything else? Junkyard turbos maybe.

I picked up a set of decent calipers with brackets and mounting bolts off a 1994 Stealth R/T n/t for $35 at pick-&-pull perfect for my 92 awd Talon uprade when I get the new rotors and ceramic pads. Think I'll paint them an aluminum color or gloss black. Haven't decided yet.

Should make a list with 420a mods, from what I've heard mustang injectors, and pt cruiser lifters. :thumb:

I found a set of 8-30 lb mustang injectors.I don't know how to calculate lb's into cc's or I would have picked them up.
