I don't like this info out and about one bit, now I'm not going to find any treasure chest DSM's at the junkyards here in the next few years. Everyone's going to pick them clean of anything useful... LOL

:dsm:

Well, I still enjoy going to the junkyard with a 10/12/14/17mm socket and wrench set and picking apart a DSM and leaving with a handful of goodies to toss in a box out in the garage for use when I need it. :sneaky:

3g lifters--lifter tick

2g front brake upgrade for the fwds. GSXs have 2 piston calipers. GSTs only have 1 pistons.

Evo8 Brembo brakes for 2g?

1g Canadian turbo models have 90amp alternators, so that's an upgrade over the US and CA n/t 75amp.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 3g lifters are not from a 3g eclipse - they're a 2nd revision (3rd version) of the original lifter from mitsubishi. You'd be hard pressed to find these in a junkyard from what I understand.

You are correct. This is a 3rd generation 2.4 lifter.

I beleive they are called "3g" lifters because they are found in the 3rd generation 4g63 DOHC engine which is the Evo 4-9. The only 4g engine in the 3rd gen Eclipse is the 4g64 SOHC which has very different lifters (like posted above). Either way, they are technically called "revised" lifters. And no, you probably won't find them anywhere near a junkyard. Especially with guys like MAP selling them at $560 for a set of 16. :barf:

3KGT and Ford Cobra BBK on 2g's.
And of course Evo series brake upgrade for both 1g and 2g.

hold up, are you kidding?? I get em on ebay for 75 all day.

i think one more thing to add that wasnt stated, the 99' 7 bolt split thrust bearing design...And the 99' metal bov-or the Evo metal bov.

#1 on the list was front brakes from the 93-94 awd.Well it should be modified to fron't and rear brakes.Because they are 2 piston calipers and not 1 piston calipers.

How can you say a 1g head is not a upgrade for a 2g?When you put a 1g head on a 2g it will finally make some power above 4500 rpm with out any porting. If you add a 2g head to a 1g with out porting run like crap no top end .

3000gt vr4 calipers are a nice upgrade but there is some fab work or buy a bracket. Then also your looking at the problem with needing wheels to clear them.

I'll look into the weight difference with the 3g tubular arms because I'm doing that right now. They do look alot nicer though.

It's just that debatable, which is why we list them as it sits. It's just the way it is man.

MAP is probably selling OEM lifters, each lifter is about $35 EACH...being that there are 16 of them it can easily add up to $560.
eBay ones are probably Top Line, which are totally fine.

The cylinderheads both have their advantages and disadvantages depending on your individual plans for your engine build. So its hard to call either an upgrade over the other
