You can buy one for $65 bucks, put it in, and then send him your old one and he will send you $15 bucks back, so basically youre spending only $40 dollars.

Last time I did math, that equalled $50. Man, Ive been out of school for too long. No wonder the economy sucks. LOL You can alwasy lengthen the shifter arm below the pivot point. I have a complete modded 92 assembley Ill sell you for 25$ plus shipping. Only the lower section and base has been modded, the top has not been cut down. It shortens throw quite a bit but my tranny had problems shifting so I took it out and am too lazy to put it back in.

Daedalus, do you have a link directly to the shifter you are talking about? Because I cannot find it through the link you provided.

If you're considering a PaceSetter shifter, remove the shifter knob and lean down to shift with your teeth instead. It will be much more smooth and less painful than using their shit.

Defiant, you talk like you have experience with the Pacesetter shifter. I'll just take you word for it. Do you know of any ofther short throw shifters for the 1g's? Or do you think it would just be easier and less painful to cut my shifter and put in metal bushings?

1g, theres the Pacesetter. thats it really. Theres Pilot. but thats the same thing. Beggers cant be Choosers. so Pacesetter is the only way unfortanantly.

I dont know how anybody could use a short shifter on a DSM unless you had the huge stock shifter knob on there still. In my laser the throw on the shifter is only like 3 1/2 inches, do 2gs have a longer stock shifter through than 1g's?

i have the B&M on my 2G GSX, only have one thing to say "GET IT" do that, symborsky shifter kit, and shifter bushing for the connection at the tranny side. Very cheap, and extreamly worthy upgrades. Shifts like a 100% new car.

I think the 90 shifters are different because I had a pacesetter short-shifter in my 93 AWD Talon, which worked great by the way, and I wanted to put it in my 90 AWD Talon. However, the bracket is smaller and the shifter would not fit in. So I used the whole bracket from the 93 and put it in but I had no reverse. I think the shift linkage is in a different position or something. Can someone please clear this up because I don't want to buy another shifter.

Yes, the 90's are different. If you check out the VFAQ Shifter section they have this article:
Shifter Differences, 90 and 91-94

Anyone in this thread get the shifter yet?
