Bought the car w/ 127k miles on it and the guy said it needed a new turbo. New turbo came w/ the car (14b) and said it would run if I put on the new turbo. The car would run, but...it would smoke a WHOLE lot and so I barely got it home. Replaced the turbo today and started the car up, ran fine for about 2 seconds and thent he idles dropped and the car died; started it again, gave it some gas, idles for a second and then dropped offa nd died again. I checked all the bolts and pipes to make sure no leaks or anything. Start it again and rev it for a few mins. and messed w/ the IAC, samet hing. After about 3 min of reving the engine I see a lot of smoke comming from the turbo; I'm guessing oil burning off and PB blaster, things like that. Look out the back, smoking like no other. It did this when I got the car, so apparently replacing the turbo did nothing and the guy lied to me. So is my engine dead or could I have screwd up in putting the turbo on???? When I first got the car it was blue smoke, but now its just flat out white smoke!! What should I check next on the engine?? There is also oil leaking out near the filter under the car, could this be a cause of the problem as well?? Let me know please!!!! I wanna know if I should just strip it and junk it. Oh ya..how much does a compression test run??
