I was thinking the other day and was wondering if I could put a fan off of a motorcycle on my stock IC to help cool it down. If anyone has ever done this please let me know what fan to use, how it hooks up, and if there is any major difference in performance by doing this. Thanks.

I'd wondered about this. But no one seems to be doing it. Apparently the payoff just isn't there, or they would.

Cooling fans only work up to around 10 mph. By then the car's getting much more air through the radiators than you could ever hope to get from a fan.

once you were going fast enough(probably 20+mph), the fan would just impede flow if it was in front of the ic.

i thought about this the other day too, like a slimline fan or something, but also remember water ic sprayers are illegal at the track, so you could only use it in between runs....but for cost/hassle of setting something up like that to just use in between runs, why not buy a little spay bottle and spray it down in between runs

driving at like 5 mph will give u as much air flow as the fan will. it will make no sense to do it sense driving at 55 and 100 will cool the i/c way more then a little fan will. only thing it will be good for is when your sitting there.

Hmmmm... Water injection sounds like a great idea for cooling your temps. (great for knock) Fans would only impead. I suggest setting up a custom water and Co2 spray system if its really that important to you. N2o kits (Ntercooler as they call them) are expensive. About your N2o costs question http://slowboyracing.com/Nirtous Express/Question & Answer/Questions&answers.html This should answer every question you could ever have about nitrous:)

Good Luck
