I finally found some time to put in my Illumina shocks and springs. The install took about 4 hours. The stock shocks were a bi*** to get off and apart. Installing the tokicos was a breeze.
The handing is a night and day difference from stock. Really planted.
The wheels are 18 x 7.5 Ace Arius. They weigh 18lbs, not bad for an 18".

Later ;)

Thanks for the compliments! :D Now I just need to fill them with some beautiful Baer brakes. There is plenty of caliper clearance. I may even be able to fit a nice four pot Brembo caliper in there. :thumb:

Just curious, did you use a spring compressor for the install or not?

Just to take apart the old shocks. The Tokicos had plenty of room on the shaft to thread the retaining nut without a compressor on the spring.

Looks good, I would go a little lower but thats just me.

You'd probably think a little different in you lived here in New York. LOL. The roads here suck ass like no other. :(

i just got the same kit, im waiting for my rims to come in before the install though, how is the ride?

It rides awesome. If you have them set on 1 its just like stock but more taught. It handles incredibly well on anything higher then 3. I drive around mostly on 3 and its very liveable for daily driving.

Nice, I just installed mine Tokico Illumina's along with eibach pro kits and they handle alot better than my previous set-up of skunk2 coilovers with kyb agx. The only thing is, it still a little rough whenever I hot bumps. I currently have them set on 3 for the fronts and 2 in the rears.

How do the Illumina compare to the KYB's? I have heard nothing but bad things about the AGX's.

I set mine all on 1 this morning for the commute to work. Its not too bad on bumps at all set on soft. But it kinda defeats the purpose of a high performance spring/shock combo.

The adjusters are on the top of the shock, so all you have to do is lift the hood and hatch to make an adjustment.

Setting one is pretty close to stock feeling. Its still a bit "stiffer" though. It soaks up the bumps quite well on one. It doesnt "bounce" on any setting. The shocks are very controlled in their movement.
Overall shock travel is reduced about 1.5 - 2" from stock.
;)
