Someone on machvforums dyno'd the injen intake pipe back to back with a stock intake pipe to find zero hp/tq gain.

alright, your right personaly I dont have any experience with the injen, but a no hp gain is a no hp gain, im willing to bet the ebay intake didnt take any away at LEAST , therefore performance wise they are the same, with a no hp increase.

that is just one car with a "no hp difference" the aftermarket peices do have more room for air to flow, therefore, depending on the setup, there should be a slight hp difference.

Again, you're 'willing to bet' that they are the same, this is not a proven fact. So performance wise, they could be different but without experience we do not know.

An enginereed intake produces zero gain.

Why is it completely impossible that a piece of obvious lesser quality does hurt power? This of course is assuming that the "no hp gain" is true. I am not saying that it DOES hurt power however, I'm just stating a flaw I see.

Think about it this way, 0 horsepower is gained from a quality intake from a reputable company. A lesser quality intake will not produce more power then the better one, right? Therefore it is not completely unlikely that it could potentially hurt power.

I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm just trying to understand your thinking.

Dynos are not the most consistent things in the world though. If it gave a 2 hp increase would it show up on the dyno? Probably not. An intake's an intake. It's just a tube. And if the home depot intake is used by some very experienced people then this one cant be horrible. If it's the same size and diameter as the Injen then I'm sure the performance is the same. Well, it's been on my car for a couple days now and it's working fine. $60 no performance bling.
