I swapped a manual shift know into my automatic 1g. I followed the article http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...r/253479-replacing-t-shifter-manual-knob.html but wanted to add a couple things.

First, instead of filling the threaded part of the M/T shifter with JB Weld and tapping that. I drilled deeper into the hole, and then cut thread in it. This allowed my shift knob to sit lower.

To add stability to the shift knob, I measured the inside of the stock shift lever, 13mm, I then ground the outside of M/T adapter to just under 13mm. A lathe would have done a better job, but I don't have access to one so I made due with a grinder.

As you can see, I was able to mount the knob slightly lower than I would have been able to had I used JB Weld, and I didn't need to put anything inside the shifter to stabilize it.

Edit: Finished. I used a Galant VR4 shift boot in the stock automatic frame. I took the factory shifter position indicator and with the help of a heat gun flattened it and attached it next to the shift boot. I took a piece of scrap metal and attached it to the shift lever with a hose clamp and mounted the PRNDL bulb underneath it. I will add some pictured of it illuminated soon.
