OK. so i have over 4,000 in this car. including a full motor rebuild, Brand new turbo rebuild with maybe 10 miles on it. brand new valve seals with maybe 5 miles on it. 176 compression across the board. heres the story.

my car ran great when it was an auto. no smoke. no nothing, the auto went out, so i swapped in a 5 speed. (it was cheap at the time from getting deals) when the motor was out i did a full rebuild. got it together, 4,500 miles later, i start boosting it. MASSIVE amounts of smoke came out my exhaust, so much smoke cars literally had to stop behind me because they could not see the road 1 foot ahead of them. its extremely thick smoke too. all oil. so i rebuilt the turbo, and put in brand new valve seals. drive 5 miles, and try it again. the same exact thing happens.
ive invested so much money in this thing. and i can even drive it to work. idk what else to check.. the head is all new too. there is nothing on this motor i didn't replace... Please help!!! :banghead:

Hrm, have you checked your PCV system to ensure you aren't getting oil up through your intake or anything like that?

Make sure your intercooler isn't a giant oil-housing. Try to empty it out, especially if you haven't done it in a while.

Is your oil level decreasing along with this burning? How about your coolant level?

There are only a few places oil can come from to burn through the exhaust
-Rings
-Valve seals
-Headgasket
-Turbo
-Intake/TB

14B turbo, when all this happened i was running 15psi. my wideband was at 11.4 when it started the inital burning. the motor has a brand new PCV valve. but ill check it again, and ill drain my intercooler too. its dark now so i wont be able to do it till tomorrow.

im bruning oil pretty rapidally, about a quart within a day of driving. i mean, it blows a S*** ton of smoke.

i had a bullsye 57 trim put 100miles on it seals went out had it rebuilt 48 miles later went out again does it smoke when u first start up or after it warms up

it smokes a little at start up, then stops. i start driving, and imbetween shifts it puffs, then when the motor starts making more than 10 vacuum, it all goes to hell. is it possible for a turbo with 5 miles to already go bad? i just dropped $110 for the kit..

when my turbo whent out i cold start car up and no smoke as soon as the exhaust got hot it smoke like crazy so i dont think it is your turbo but like he said double and tripple check

Once I rebuilt a 4 cyl short block non turbo and it smoked terrible. Turned out Kragen sold me the wrong size oil control rings for the pistons, Took it apart changed the oil rings only and no more smoke.
If you don't think its valve guild seals or turbo, this could be it.

I hate to say it but I think rings are in fact your problem.

Oil in the cylinder will cause compression to read high. Was the motor broken in properly? Ever overheated?

Or possibly even the wrong rings as stated above.

I really REALLY hope that is not your case!

I had good compression too.
To the guy thats smokes mostly when you start it cold in the morning. Probably just valve guild seals.
I've changed dozens. Our cars are trickier than most but you can do it with the head still on the car.

Yeah i broke it in properly. though the pistons were out after the break in. i wonder if it does need a re-ring/hone..
an oil squirter broke and i had to take the crank/pistons out to get to it. i marked where the rings were loactated, and how they came out, and put them back in the same way..

i had the same problem when i blew the 14b i shot oil into my cat and thats what caused me to smoke. so i lopped off the cat and havnt had a problem since

my friend had a 7mgte i know its not the same car but it had the same problem his turned out to be the turbos

and even if you rebuild the turbo yourself the turbo can still be bad did it have excessive shaft play or anything like that?

I agree with this, it sounds like the turbo had a problem that wasn't fixed with the rebuild. If the sealing surface on the center section or the seal plate are damaged than the seal won't really do much. Could of also damaged the seal while installing it. It's pretty easy to figure out where it is coming from. Remove the intercooler piping and check it for oil, if none is present than pull the o2 housing and look at the turbine wheel. If none is present there than you can remove the exhaust manifold and look at the exhaust ports. You will fine oil in one of those 3 places.

Also make sure that the breather hose that goes from the valve cover to the intake pipe is clear, and the nipple where it hooks to the intake pipe is clear. I bought an aftermarket intake pipe once that had a nipple but the hole wasn't drilled and i didn't notice it until i tried a second turbo and it did the same thing.

If you rebuilt the turbo yourself, a common problem when putting them together is getting the shaft seal seated properly without knocking it out of its groove or damaging it.

I was having a hell of a time trying to get a dual seal HX40 seated without ducking up the second ring.
