Ok first i want to say im not looking for anyone to help me in a flame war nor am i trying to start anything that hasnt all ready been started im just mad as hell. oh i dont hate any type of car its more of the owners fault not the cars fault.

A friend of mine has a Probe GT and was asking me to help him make it "faster" so i tought i would stop by probetalk.com at first they seemed like some nice people, i tought i would look at the kills section just to see what they can do modded out. I come accross a few kills against "boosted" DSMs, so i just ask a few questions and give a few facts about our cars and BLAM here comes the dumb replies talking shit about cars like mad. I just dont see WTF there problem is, i did not say one time that the guy didnt win nor did i say anything about probes being slow. Sorry for wasting space on our board but i just had to vent.

ps. they even said our engine sucked, i mean wtf

i guess i take things to personal, but when someone says stuff about my car or the type of car i drive it just makes me very mad. but really some of the people on that board is nice and is helping me state facts but some are just plain stupid.

The toughest thing in life to be is objective when you have a personal stake in it. A probe owner will always be defensive of his choice of car because it's human nature. Simple as that. Same goes for us as DSM owners. Someone says "you engine sucks" and our ears perk up. Every other car enthusiast does the same thing. Dodge truck owners perk up when Chevy guys tell them the Ram sucks, etc.

Deal with it and move on. There is only 1 purely objective viewpoint I believe in and that is the clock. When the finish line is crossed, the stop watch doesn't car what you drive. The timing lights are never biased and the road is just as straight and long for you as it is for him. You can't lie to it, you can't buy it off, you can reason with it. The clock owns you all.

....they arent that slow. i ran low 15's stock and eventually got to 14.3. did a bunch more mods but never hit the track b/c i got hit by a DD.

a stock probe GT vs a stock AWD or FWD DSM IIIIISSSSS a close race. the DSM should win, but damn....WE DO THE SAME THING. those are the same guys that recommended i get a DSM when mine got totaled. we shouldnt judge a group by the actions of a few....thanks for comin out thou!

a 1st gen or second gen probe, cause i beat a 2nd gen probe GT on a race to 60 in my 91 Lumina 3.1. They are quick but i can't see them keeping up with a DSM.

i never said they were slow. if you wish to see the thread i am refering to here you go. after reading Tevenor post i decied to just let it go and be sure to drive flawlessly everytime i ever line up to a probe and let the timeslip speak for me.

i'd love to see a mod list and time slip for that car. btw, an awd and fwd can't be compared to another for racing. the awd will rape it off the line, and a fwd will fly by from a nice roll.

Personally, I'm not into that sort of thing. But some people seem to enjoy it. The turbo probes are really the only ones that could give a STOCK DSM any trouble. There's acutally a friend of mine that has a gt (Turbo) 1gen here at U. Mobile, and he's about as fast as my 95, t25'd FWD automatic TSi was when it was bone stock(leaking bov).
