Im no expert at trannys but this one had a welded center diff. Well I was playin in the snow and she went RWD on me on the 5th launch I was doing. So I have yet to tear it apart so im not sure exactly what is wrong but I assume the center shit the bed. Driving home rwd in the snow= not fun. Kinda scary. Anyway I have another car so im not driving this one. But back on topic. I would like to keep this tranny as it has been so smooth and reliable no grinds or nothin. Its a 91 tranny in a 90 car. So option 1 would be get another tranny, I have access to and will do in a last resort method. Get a built tranny, Thinkin about it but I hate to rebuild a trans that was working and still is ALMOST flawlessly. So can I get rewelded if thats the case? Does a welded center diff just stop working? So what options do I have. Thanks Guys. Oh yeah I did search but I am getting confused on welded diffs and VCs ,eliminators and such just hoping someone can make it not simple but some way so I understand what could have broke and what I might need to replace. I am definately looking to keep this trans and keep it in a 4x4 state.
