Saskatoon,
I have a 91' Talon TSi AWD and my car will pop/miss once my boost climbs up around the 17 psi range. I know its a lac of fuel but, what I want to know is what do you guys suggest I do to stop it. ie. install ?????

My mods are as follows: Custom exhaust W/O cat, FPR, manual boost controller, K&N, modded air can, ACT 2600, HKS TT, short throw, balanced and weight knob. Oversized Valves, ported and polished, forged 9:1 JE pistons. Stock Turbo.

Please give me your input.

Thanks

pop/miss?? as in fuel cut or stumbling?

1. If you are running platinum plugs, switch to copper
2. Set your gap to .028"
3. Run 1 range cooler (i.e. NGK BP7ES)
4. Log the car and look for knock (find a friend with a logger or buy one-you are getting to the point of needing one)
5. 17 psi is pretty high for stock injectors, especially on a 9:1 compression motor - look at getting bigger injectors and fuel computer.

You actually could use a couple things. An upgraded fuel pump, adjustable fuel regulator, SAFC, and a datalogger. If I were you, I'd turn the boost down a little til you get a logger and can see what's going on in your engine.

My 2 cents...

This wraps it up a whole lot. I would also suggest you turn your boost down to 15psi to start. It sounds to me like ignition type problem from old or crappy wires. I had that same type of problem on my 90 cause my wires were arse and they were arking across them.

See if running lower boost fixes your problem to start. If it does then your getting fuel cut because your computer is seeing more air flow then it's supposed to, so it's "saving" your motor.

Time for you to invest into 550cc or 650cc (better) and an AFC.
