Idling - Whats your boost gauge read.

the stock numbers for the engine are 17-22 vacuum at idle is healthy. 13-16 vacuum at idle witha steady needle means that you have: a misfiring engine, a manifold leak, or a valve issue. I run about 15 steady at idle and I have a misfire in my engine (cause my missing link still hasn't come!!)

Zero... it's a 0-35psi gauge. Ha!

Seriously though, according to a vac gauge my GSX has about 14 inHg at idle (1300 rpm); However, this lower than usual number can most likely be attributed to the 272's and the high idle.

Yes with it only at 3 you have to have either a boost leak, or something else telling the motor there is a load on it. Is this with ac on, clutch in...etc or did you see this when you have NO load on the motor and in neutral? Do you have any CEL's going on? Fouling plugs/misfire as someone said above...

so do u think I have a problem if it is at 3 inHg when @ idle. If so has anyone ran into this problem before?

Well, you need to convert to psi, but I think you've hooked into the wrong port.
Is it running okay? Are you just driving yourself nuts over a gauge you've just installed? Now you see why the factory gauge is fake. It's not because they couldn't put a real one in there.

I may have taped into the wrong line, I have had it runnign like this for a long time. When I am driving everything seems to be normal though, deaccel i hit 20 into vac. Im not sure what it could be, i will try different lines tonight and see what readings I get. Kinda making me worried now.

on start up and warming up.. at idle: anywhere from -15--18 hg in vac..

after that and driving the car and when in idle.. around -19--20

like mentioned.. if ur only getting -3.. u got some issues.. prob leaks or something.. at least hope thats the only problem
