This is kinda long, so bear with me and it should make sense. My problem started around november of 2002. My car started idling really low sometimes and would stall out once in a while. I had my mechanic check it out, and he replaced my throttle position sensor wiring, and that helped the problem for a while. But then it slowly and intermittantly came back.
So the problem continued, although not too bad, over the last however many months. But it wasn't bad, so I just dealt with it. Now, I put my turbo kit on in may, and since then, it has started getting worse again. Except this time it was idling really high . Like between 2-3k sometimes even higher, but sometimes it was normal. Me and my buddy (who is a mechanic) pulled a P0505 code, which is idle air control. He said that my idle control motor was shot, so we replaced it, and it idled absolutely PERFECT for about three days. Then, all of a sudden it started intermittently idling high and low again. So we thought it might be my ecu. So last night, me and my other buddy took our ecu's out (he has a m/t 97 GS just like me) and swapped them. With his ecu in my car, it still acted up, basically did the exact same thing it had been doing. So at this point, im pretty sure it cant be my ecu, I was wondering if it could be a faulty idle air control motor, cause it did work perfect for a few days and then took a shit again .
Other possibilities I have come up with are the throttle position sensor itself, or perhaps some kind of air temperature sensor in the throttle body or intake manifold .
I need help guys!!!
