i raced a 4.6L GT LOL and i what half a car away from him in 2nd then he blew me away then my power steering belt ripped LOL and i herd a big pop. ma talon is stock all i have is an injen intake. wow im an idiot. how much does it cost to replace that labor and all. thanks

Holy crap, what?!

How about some punctuation, grammer, or at least a proof read.

We cant give you an estimate to replace something, call around to who you want to do it.

I had a 420a and my sh** kept popping off every time i redlined and punched it on a turn. you can put it back on yourself it is very easy especially with all of that room you have underthe hood compared to the gst/gsx. the belt is only 20 bucks and the only way to trully fix your belt from popping of is to get new pulley's. make sure you get lightweight aluminum pulley's it will be a nice fix and mod all in one. Lay off the redlining until you get it fixed because you will eb=nd up replacing that belt an a** load of times trust me I replaced at least 50.

my power steering belt did the same. after i got my engine intake i thought i was a hard a** haha just cause i finally got "a" modification done. so i went to the city and was just screwin around. i raced a mustang too but it was a v6...yes i beat it, but once i tried to turn down a street i noticed the steering had gotten tighter, so i pulled over and saw the belt was gone!!!! it happened over and over for the next month or so everytime i got on it hardcore the only thing i could do was keep replacing it and adjust the power steering pump as tight as i could. eventually i got an unorthodox udp and it seemed to actually help out the belt problem. i don't understand but hey it worked! haha....

wow, i used to rod the piss out of my GS and that thing hasnt shred a belt yet

i still rod the piss out of mine and my belt hasn't broke. if it ever does i'll just say fk it and drive it w/o power steering. it builds muscle =D

my alt. belt shredded once... kinda scary... sitting at a stoplight, and it all of a sudden sounds like im running over a bunch of twigs. i was think "oh shit timings gone" but it ends up it just shreaded a 1/5 of it off, and i was able to rip that part off and use it until i could change it. but that belt was just replaced a couple days before. i didnt do it... too lazy... and im starting to think this post is pointless.... and that im rambling... oh well

yes...very useless thread! we all know a manual eclipse can beat a v6 mustang, and the belt question has been answered or giving examples of past experiences numerous times! good luck w/ fixing the belt!

sorry about that...i thought you were talkin about the thread.

My friend had a 96 rs and his power steering belt kept flying off... After so many times of that happening... It just stayed off.

is everyone drunk when they reply to this thread :thumb:

My PS pulley got the wobbles and would throw the belt every day... I finally said screw it, and drove with no PS for a few weeks

My p/s belt did the same, and it messed up my a/c compressor. I just got a shorter belt and ran it to my p/s pump. No more problems. :thumb:
