I just took my car in to have an oil chage done on it and i was told that my motor has a huge oil leak. So now i dont know how much damage has been done to the internals of my motor so i think im f-ed. what should i do? should i try and find the leak and fix it or should i just buy a whole new motor?

also does an rs tranny fit a gsx motor? because if i get a new motor i would wanna get either a gst or an gsx motor.

any help would be appricated

Just cause you have a leak doesn't guarantee that you have messed up your internals. You do check and add oil right?? You may have a problem if you were driving with no oil at all.

where is it leaking from? Take it apart and fix the leak. As long as you had enough oil in the engine you're fine. Non turbo motors and turbo motors are reversed .... you'd have your trans on backwards ;)

If i were you i would just look for the leak yourself, if you can't find it take it to a mechanic and let them find it for you. Unless the guy at the oil shop said there was no oil on the stick, I seriously doubt you had any damage to your car. As for putting the turbo engine in your car, i believe its a pretty difficult swap since the engines are pretty much reversed and the mounts need to be customized

um.....your not going to install a 4g63 on your 420a eclipse....right?

or are u?

BTW your engine will never bolt to a GSX tranny

As long as it didn't run too low on oil your fine, if it still runs good, fix the leak and don't worry about it.:thumb:

all i have to say is that if you think cuz you have a leak your motor is most likely messed up maybe you should not try to do it yourself let a mechanic do it you will probably mess up fixing it. i am sure you don;t drive around with the engine oil light on right, i know you are smarter than that.
