I am sorry that I deceived all of you. I just hope some of you can appreciate how hard this is for me...

The only thing ill give you is that you got lucky and came clean 40 minutes before i found this post or i would have ripped you apart. Im still pissed but youre later post under this has calmed me down enough to delete the personal attacks.

Good grief. At least he was man enough to come clean at all. That takes a lot of guts. He knew he was in the wrong, and admitted it...but you couldn't miss out on the opportunity to kick him, even if he was down. Way to be, guy.

Real or not, it was still a good effin' story :)

Hey Im a POG as well. Yes I stay on the FOB as much as I can. I dont like to go outside the wire if I dont have to. You Chose your job and others chose theirs. Yea his story was a bit far fetched but It was a mistake and he owned up to it. You can hate all non gurnt personell if you want because we dont go out and get blown up constantly. Just remember that If it wernt for alot of guys like me your job would be that much worse without any AVIATON assets covering you from above. We all have out place and we all have a job that makes it possible to get the overall mission done.
Also Just because I stay on the FOB dont mean I never see any risk. I have almost been blown up several times from incoming indirect fire. Remember that the aircraft is the most alluring target to the bad guys. The flight line gets shot at constantly. Pretty much any fob I been at wether IRAQ or AFGHANISTAN.

OK Ghost - he admitted that he lied... what more do you want? You can't take back the past, you can only apologize for it and try to do better in the future. At least he maned up to what he did, which is more than what some other people have done on here in recent days.

Wow, way to be a douche. (and I'm not talking about Ghost)

tenn, theres nothing wrong with being a POG, but dont run around talking shit pretending to be something your not............its fine if you dont leave the wire once, i wish i never did, but dont ####ing lie about who you are and what you did, especially when there are people who have to go through this shit every day.

There is a reason I admitted my sin.
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/hangout/345938-backing-away-dsmtunes-while.html

I won't defend myself, I greatly dishonored you and the other combat arms. I didn't even realize it until Ghost said something. I feel especially ashamed as Ghost is another old timer on this site, which among my peers I have greater respect for.

My deployment was not hard, not at all. I wish it was, I tried to make a difference, but I didn't. I am told that I did.

I contemplated asking Ludachris to delete the thread, but it does more to confess then hide your sins.

Dude, cmon man you don't need to kill ANYBODY to defend this country. Any person serving there country is defending it and I appreciate it.

Wow..I'm glad you didn't get hurt..

That is some sh**.

I've got to give you alot of respect for doing what you do..

My friend jaimie stopped a bomb in Iraq with her face..I bet she wishes more folks like you were in her convoy..Also they werent in 4 inch thick armor plated humvees..She said there wasn't jack squat protecting her fom a bomb in that vehicle..

Beinga millitary person..I'm pretty sure god will forgive you..Keep your head up..

Theres no reason to lie about what you do. Right now im 60 feet away from guys whose entire job is just to keep the MWR computers online and keep the sipper nets up for our CPs..... Without them i would have lost my mind and shot someone on my side already.

Leaving the wire sucks, every time I get blown up or watch someone else get blown up i have to sit here and thank god i still get to go back home to my kids. If i was in charge we would never leave the wire and have local national forces handle everything with us giving guidance from the pbs & fobs....

dont get down on yourself about not leaving the wire. every mos is important in its own function, but dont lie about what you did, you still went to combat, even if you didnt get shot at, just stick to that, there are millions of people back home who will never have claim to that atleast.

and trust me, killing someone isnt that great. the first person i killed was mortaring my fob which my own brother was on, if thats not reason to kill someone i dont know what is, and i still feel bad for him every day. the ones after that are all just as bad or worse, no one needs that on their conscience.

so in short, just be who you are, you dont need your fellow servicemembers catching you in a lie, thats the worst, then your classified with those guys who put tons of awards on their uniforms and take a fake picture and start posting shit on myspace or facebook.

thats my 2c. I hope you realise that being in deployed is enough to prove who you are, you dont need to go out on mission or kill someone. And yeah, its cool and all when everyone is all over you for that 1 or 2 days going "oh man you got that guy" like in your story, but after 3 days its old news and no one cares but youre left to carry that forever.

I'm glad i read that, that was intense. You should write a book or something

Thank you for protecting the innocent. Without guys like you every day on the front line, these murders would just keep doing the unspeakable things they do. I do understand your pain.

I don't think any less of you Sean. People do strange things sometimes. It's sounds like you just got a little out of your head over there. It's hard to come clean, especially with how critical people can be on here; but you did and I respect you more for that.

Wow wish I could say the same bout the not being true, your story story sounds pretty close to what actually happens guessing you have some kind of military back ground. Well I have been in similar situations but luck has been on my side and they have not hit us directly, plus we are in MRAPS so much safer. It is hard to sleep at night though with all this stuff on your mind. Even harder when you hear a damn rocket or mortar round hit while you trying to sleep ugh wish I was home already well almost done.

Sean,
It takes a lot of guts to do what you did by admitting the truth. I want you to know though that all of the stuff you mentioned that you did not do while overseas but wanted to, does not matter. All that matters is that you served. That is more than most people will do. There is not one person who has not at least embellished, or lied in some sort of story in their life, military or not. Hell, there was a guy in my old platoon who was a specialist, but I saw him at a bar in his army greens with SFC rank, along with countless medals and ribbons he never earned. We told him to never do it again, and never mentioned it again. You have nothing to be ashamed about, you still served, and hell, went over to Iraq. No one will ever be able to take that away from you. For the rest of your life you will be able to say that you served in the military, and the majority of America will thank you for that. My sister used to be in the Air Force, and her job was laundry, I am not kidding. She lived on base and did all the laundry, and linens for the quartermasters. Sure, she never saw any combat, and her job included washing clothes, but that does not make her no less a soldier. The point is that she, along with you, unselfishly dedicated a period of time to the military. You put your life aside to go overseas to defend the freedoms that most people take for granted.
It is ultimately up to you, but do not feel that you should/have to leave for a period of time due to coming clean. If it is for other reasons, then that's fine. But no one on here has the right to judge you. I would venture a guess and say that only about 10-15% of the members on here have been in the military, so the rest of those people cannot say one damn thing bad about you, they dont have the right to, and they should thank you. As for the people in the military, or retired, they should not see you as any less of a person, because you are a brother in arms.
If you would like to talk, please feel free to email or PM me.
