I’m here to introduce myself and my first dsm car. I picked up a 99 eclipse gs in December for $1200 and it’s been a pain but hopefully it’ll get it’s glory as a daily. Also any ideas on how to get that god awful plastidip off? I don’t know whose brilliant idea it was to do it but I can’t stand it

It peels off in random places but it’s super inconsistent so I’ll have to give the wd40 a shot

I have also used WD-40 and A LOT of elbow grease to get that stuff off of some headlight covers and ONE wheel out of a set of 4 :idontknow:
I was thinking there was another method to remove that dam stuff, if I can find it I will post it up.
Also, Welcome to the best dam DSM forum ANYWHERE. If you can't find it here, good luck. We have some of the BEST members that are so helpful that you can't deny, We are the BEST and welcome you to our humble group!

Welcome! Recently watched ammo’s video and he was having the same issue with a clear bra. Boil some water and pour it over the area worked great.
REALLY???? I am going to give that a shot. I have one chrome 2g rim that the PO dipped. If boiling water is the trick, I will come back and verify it worked. Thanks T!!! :thumb: Good info for anyone with plastidip that needs removed.

It should work better since clear bra adhesive is stronger than plastdip so I’d imaging it would work well. But I haven’t tried it myself :idontknow:

Obviously you don’t want to put piping hot water on some parts LOL
