ok--Im only getting 13-14 mpg's and I haven't even started to mod{much} so any suggestions-I have an '93Auto AWD Tsi

you shouldn't be gettin that low....you should check all your fuel equipment...

even if you drive hard (5k+ RPM), you shouldnt get that low

at least i would hope not

I drive my Laser 5 days a week around 85 miles round trip to work and back. I has never gotten any worse than 28 and best ever is 32.

check your filters. air, fuel, etc. aswell.

20mpg here no matter what I do it seems. Freeway or city, 20mpg is the number.

I have changed all sensors, the fuel filter, put on a k&n, New NGK plugs and wires...I've put in adleast 6 injector cleaners...The A'pexi Auto timer I put in shows the O2 sensor jumping all over the place{I was told that is good?} I do not know how to read the A/F portion of that. At this piont I wish it was a 427, then I would have an excuse!

It really depends on how you drive, I have a 2G awd, and wile testing and tuning I have went through an ENTIRE tank of gas at 160Miles, so that is 10.6 MPG, still better then some exotics.

My BEST EVER was when I was driving back to NJ from MIam, was from NC to Virgina, cruise control on, NO a/c, no boosting, just mindless driving and I get 460 miles, and i was staring at the gas light for an hour, testing my theory of the inferior gsa light. Turbos actually IMPROVE gasmilage if you do not boost them all the time.
That was 30MPG, not bad.

Ok--So now that I have no excuse for bad gas mileage---do you think a SAFC or a new Stand ECU-are my last options....and do you think they would make a diffrence...??

a standalone will totally fix everything if you can afford it, properly set it up, then tune it...

id be weary of your o2 readings, still. it could also be the maf thinking there's a lot more air going through it than there really is

Not to familiar with 1g's, but are you venting or do you have any honeycombs removed?

My best is 35mpg(mostly highway) and my worst is 26(all city). I average 30. My car has always got great mileage for some reason
