Hey community. How is everyone doing, during this stressful time that is? Me personally, I am on unemployment. I was seriously struggling before the extra 600 kicked in.

I'm still doing hvac school and knocked that out one week at a time, pretty happy I am progressing there.

Is everyone else just chillin out living their best life LOL I kind if am.

I'll weigh in. My 2g DSM is long gone since 2016, though it was parked DOA back in 2012 due to a transmission failure (i.e. failed clutch hub spring) and what looked like crankwalk at 148,000 miles). It had about 404 whp on an EVO3 16g so it was an absolute blast, but time caught up with it and I kinda outgrew it. I'm rocking a 2015 EVO X Final Edition summer only vehicle with bolt-ons with about 330 whp or so......pretty bland but hoping a MHI-TF06 18K will get it moving a little better next year. Wishing I got the dual clutch as time is catching up with me on the clutch leg, but stick is always fun too. I don't frequent Tuners too much anymore as I did what I set out to do with my 2g and moved on. Maybe when I'm retired I'll get a track only 2G DSM.

Um, still working as a Sr. Project Engineer which funds my little hobbies. Just got out of the hospital with a gallblader operation in the midst of this COVID-19, that was fun, doin good though on the 2 week outpatient recovery. Trying to avoid getting sick but whatever happens I guess.

Have an absolute massive engine/transmission build goin on with my 2012 Nissan AWD/CVT Juke 1.6L turbo. Transmission failed back in Sept 2018 and have been on the build since. Rebuilt/re-engineered the entire Nissan Jatco CVT transmission for more torque capacity plus custom transmission cooling system upgrades. I custom machined the drum/clutch packs to add more friction discs, upgraded the trans oil pump, custom designed a reinforcing insert for the forward clutch drum, and a few other tricks to get it to survive higher torque and last longer. Engine block has Carrillo forged pistons, forged rods, cometic headgasket, 2J FMIC, fuel pump, typical bolt-ons, etc. Had the stock cams reground by CROWER cam to increase topend flow. Headwork I did myself with some light cylinder head runner port work, pocket/bowel port work, valve job, new intake/exhaust valve guide seals, resurfaced deck, etc. The valve job was done using Neway hand grinders and a LOT of hard lessons on how to grind & finish lapp for a perfect seat finish/seal, spent months figuring that out. Next time I'm sending it out to PortFlow in California for my EVO X heads....LOL. Also custom retrofit Intake/Exhaust springs from Supertech, custom machined spring seats, and Ford Escort spring retainers custom machined by me for reduced weight and higher rpm duty. Overall, good learning experience but never doing that again. Turbo is a little on the small side with a custom TD04HL-19T good for about 39-40 lb/min, but more then plenty for a 1.6L motor and the torque limited CVT. The weight savings come next but shooting for 2850 lbs vs 3120 lbs stock. It was quick at 260 h.p. at full weight, so with 320-360 hp @ 260-270 lb-ft torque at lighter weight it should be a super fun little Economy commuter/winter car.

Anyway, I haven't posted much since I parted my 2G out so that's what I've been up to. Cheers.

@pboglio that sounds like a rocking juke, never heard of anyone building one up, especially with the CVT.
Should post some info, or make a build thread for it since Chris opened up vehicle profiles for everything.

Myself I am also on unemployment, doing side jobs and selling parts to fund things. My roommate is a nurse and is always around covid19 patients, but neither of us have contracted it afaik. His gf on the other hand did, and was over it in a few days, she compared it to a bad cold. She's free and clear now back working in the medical field as well.

I'm mostly working on my fleet of garbage and helping buddies with their stuff, main focus is getting my 2g finished, just waiting on the engine to be finished at the machine shop and then it'll get all my attention till finished.

Can't wait to be able to see some family when they all feel comfortable with visits, I was in Antartica for 5 months before this happened and I miss everyone! Hope everyone is staying safe and making it by alright!

Yeah, I have the Engine build and Trans build threads over at Jukeforums.com. I'll link to it when I get the chance.

Girlfriend is also a nurse in Indiana so they are seeing some COVID patients too, complete nightmare with what those patients and nurses go thru, not pretty.
You guys hang in there, economy is gonna open up over the next month or two. Waiting on that damned vaccine they keep promising.

My wife and I still work every day and luckily our office hasn't terminated a single person. Can't even image what some are going through. Life for us has been the same except for quarantine/social distancing.

As a essential worker in the autobody industry, just barely getting by. People dont have the funds to pay thier deductibles or are afraid of getting a loaner car. So half days or 2 or more days with out work or both. With auto makers shut down the work we do get in then,we have to locate parts which is job in it self. Out of stock, national back order and such, and they are only making so many deliveries a week.

Damn man, I'm sorry to hear your work is so slow, do you at least get to apply for partial unemployment?

Holding down the delivery fort here. Still working every day, but mask and gloves, since I deal with John Q. Dumbass Public. I have people that come into the Post Office for 1 dam stamp....People, buy a few and stay home, I don't know where any of them have been or who they have seen or been around so I protect myself so I can still see my 77 year old mom and my 4 year old grandson. Not much socializing except on here. I still take the cars to town and "lurk" and surprisingly, there are other car guys out. We will pass and wave but this outbreak has sure changed the way America looks and does business. Switched to direct deposit for my paycheck just in case the banks even closed so I could still pay bills. Retirement fund took a 10k hit, so I hope the markets come back soon, I can't afford to loose more if I EVER want to retire.
Here is how I have to meet the public to keep myself safe. (My ex works in the medical field and she looks even spookier, LOL). I don't see us shutting down, commerce would come to a halt but it is scary working with the people who don't wear a mask during this time.

I am luckily in the medical field as far as employment goes and still have my full time job. Surprisingly though, here in Cali at least, a LOT of nurses and medical staff are getting cut because we've noticed a huge huge drop in the hospital patient census. It's almost as if people are avoiding coming here because they're so terrified of getting COVID. I'll tell you what though, I am grateful and hopefully this gives a lot of the dumbasses a reality check. I speak for mainly the hyperchondriacs/drug addicts/homeless. Being that we used to be the county hospital, we are still currently the only hospital in the city that accepts any/every patient. So we have always operated at Max capacity and it's honestly ridiculous when we get patients that come in for stupid sh*t or drug addicts that come in having to take up hospital beds. It screws the people that actually need it. Drives me crazy.

Anyway, I am loving the lack of traffic here LOL. Even the entire damn city is following the stay at home orders which is shocking. However, it's definitely made it awesome for forcing us to realize the little things that matter. Family time being one of them. I actually ended up grabbing two beat up used pallets from my best friend and started my first wood work project. It was for my girlfriend and her grandparents. Took a few days but MAN was it fun! And they were happy :)

@ishnish that's a pretty sweet beverage rack! Hell all I'm doing is working on cars...

@1990TSIAWDTALON I'm glad to hear you're still trucking, and being safe! There are alot of stupid ppl I've seen, mostly the ones that are sick (in some way) still going out and about like normal and not observing any precautions. There are no masks available up here, but my roommate has told me it wouldn't stop me from getting it, just keep me from spreading it if I was infected. I just hunker at home and have only gone to the grocery store, and I'm observing every failsafe I can. Otherwise life feels somewhat normal, but I miss the family that's for sure.

My beer consumption has increased............:p :ohdamn: :shhh:
And, I too, like the LACK of traffic on my 30 minute commute to work. Hardly a car on the road, mostly semi's doing THEIR job.

Thank you! I actually got so caught up on my post I forgot about the DSM LOL I actually have been working on the car quite a lot! Just battling some lean wave issues on my WOT due to big injectors that I'm trying to figure out. But making good progress nonetheless!
Also, funny thing about my little pallet project: I don't even drink hahaha so it's not like I'll even be using it for what it's built for!

My son and ex both got their stimulus checks today......but not me :banghead:

Oh, bonus info, someone stole my identity and already got my tax refund! Luckily, my tax preparer took care of it but it's gonna take a bit until I get my refund when I filed taxes almost two months ago! So now I'm wondering if the damn person stealing my sh*t will get my stimulus check or I'll go through some stupid crap regarding that due to this entire fiasco! My luck I tell ya'...
I just hope they catch who did it and jail the f*cker!! I was PISSED.

I got mine this morning. Feeling grateful, no need to worry about rent. Bout to take my grey eclipse to get the p0455 fixed at a shop then slap on the egr and get it inspected. Then start getting the things I need to fix my oil leaks with the talon, getting excited about working on the talon haha

Both of my jobs were deemed essential in Michigan. My day job moved to "work from home". And still doing fab work early AM and at night. And I'm loving it. If I never went back into the office, I'd be a happy man. But overall just feeling fortunate to still have my jobs/income and my health.
