I was told two different things to do when asking how to replace the serpintine belt. Its the belt that runs the water pump and the alternator. I was told that I would have to pull the engine to replace it. Is this true or could I just loosen the one bolt on the alternator, push it in a little and put the belt on? Please hurry. Thanks.

If it's the belt that goes to the alternator then no you don't have to pull the engine. You have the right idea.

if it is the belt that goes to the alternator, its very easy, losen the bolt on top of the alternator, then riht underneath the alternator, there is a nother bolt, zap that in till your alternator moves and your belt frees up, you may have to pry your alternator due to rust or old age tomove, then remove the belt, replace and then zap the bolt back up till you cant twist the belt more then 90 degrees or there is less then 1/2 inch playin belt, then tighten top bolt!!! daduntada
