Ive been in and out of dsm's for years. I've owned several of them. I just got my most recent one back in april. I've always planned on doing a little street build with it.

My girlfriend always liked the way they have looked. I let her drive mine for awhile and she fell in love with them. She started helping me work on mine and found out she liked working on them.

I've been looking for a project one for months that she could build herself.
I searched for months for one and had no luck in finding one i was interested in.
Just recently my old friend called me up and asked if I still wanted a project. He told me its yours if you give me $800. Well of course I jumped on it.

Well I've always planned on doing a 6 bolt swap in my car.
She just wants to get hers running.
Heres the plan, I'm going to build a 6 bolt for my car and then put my great running 7 bolt in her gst.

Just picked up a 6 bolt for 80 bucks. Im positive its non turbo but for 80 bucks, you cant beat it.
The guy I bought it off of said it was "locked up". He said it would barely turn.

Well I pulled the head off and found out it wasnt "locked up"
Theres other problems.

Crank and block are in great condition. I'm going to use 1g Rods with 2g pistons. I have a spare 7 bolt head that I'm going to use on it. I'll have more pics up when I get back home and working on it.

I'd say around 2" drop, maybe more. It looks alot lower in person. It's lowered on eBay coilover sleeves. It rides awesome in the front. The rear is pretty stiff. The only reason why I put them on is because I got them for free and a had a extra set of struts. I was pretty surprised when I put them on. It wasn't bouncy but it was firm. My struts are blown now. The ride quality got worse but it's not bad unless your on a horrible road. Would I ever put eBay sleeves on a Dsm again? Never again. Do it once, do it right. I'm going for Megan full coilovers set in the spring.

update.
I got an xspower exhaust manifold, ebay "50 trim" turbo, feed and return line, emusa 38mm wastegate, and pte 680 injectors for $200.

It all came off of a awd 1g. He claimed he ran low 12's with these parts. He also told me he ran with this setup for about 6 months.
I know the manifold and turbo is cheap junk. The manifold has no cracks and the turbo has minimal shaftplay and barely smokes going WOT.

Im not a fan of ebay parts but i'd say I got a good deal on it. I pretty much bought the injectors for that price.
