Hello everyone! After the new head gasket and head install, and new timing, I noticed that when i start the car it idles great and normal. i always let it heat up before i even move the car. Today on my first REAL test drive on the road i left the house and all was well. I started driving and figured i would go wash all the dust off the car. When i arrived and had the car in neutral i noticed that the idle was staying at around 1700rpm and wouldnt drop. Also while driving i noticed that the cars oil pressure was just past the first tick mark. Any direction would be appreciated! Thanks!

For your idle problem, inspect all your vacuum lines, and intake and intercooler systems. Pump some air into the engine with a boost leak tester and air compressor and spray soapy water on all those parts. Wait for air bubbles and fix as necessary.

While a vacuum leak of some sort is really likely, make sure to check that your throttle cable has some slack in it when everything is warm and that the throttle butterfly is fully closed at idle.

Double check that the TPS is correctly adjusted because if the internal IPS was working your car should have been idle surging if it was idling at 1700 rpm.
