So for a while I have been trying to catch up with the rest of the world and get high speed. I tried through my phone company for DSL, but I am too far away from the distribution center. I then tried through the cable company, but they want to charge me an arm and a leg to wire it less then a quarter mile to my house. They told me that I don't have cable but i do have Fiber Optic cable ran in front of my house. I also contacted Verizaon who is the only company i know of who is running fiber and they said that they do not service my area. I took a walk today and realized that it is definately fiber. Now I live in the middle-of-nowhere, as can probably be seen by the fact that I dont have access to any of todays technologies, but why would I have Fiber running in front of my house? Also does anyone know of a service I could call in order to find out who ran the Fiber line? And lastly does anyone know a way to have the cable ran for free (I doubt it. ) Thanks for the time.
