high 15's 1/4 MILE....STOCK????

HEY....


im new to DSMTUNERS, but i know a lot about DSM's and I dont know whats up with my eclipse. I have an AEM cold air intake...and i run 15.9 quarter miles. All my friends made fun of me when i got my car. They have cars such as a Jetta VR6, Audi A4, modified integra, and a 94 Mustang 5.0 a/t. I wasted the VR6, A4, and I had about a car length on the integra, and i beat the 5.0 through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, then he pulled even, and we stayed even the rest of the race. I'm an experienced stick driver, so i know that helps...but i shouldnt be this fast????? I hang with cars that should kill me. Like Integra GSR's are a very good race for me, and I've beaten some Civic SI's.

Lemme tell you whats going on. I bought my car (knowing nothing about cars at the time) down in the ghetto from a lil Mexican car dealer guy. He said the car had exhaust and headers. I didnt know much about mod's at the time so i trusted him and bought the car. Turns out the "exhaust" is just a 4" muffler tip, and the heat shield is still on my exhaust manifold so i know i dont have headers. I just wanna know why the hell is my car like this???? Seriously, Jetta VR6's go 0-60 in 6.7, and i absolutlety smoked this car, it was a m/t and hes a good driver. I dont know whats up?????????????? And this isnt a joke either. Im not just messin around, is there any way i could have some mods done to my car that i wouldnt know about???

you know what you have?i can tell so can 1TuffRS.......you have a freak from factory.........i smoke SI's like nothin........ask 1TuffRS for his 1/4 times, cant tell u mine cuz i dont go to the track......but one thing for sure is that you have a FREAK

that would be the only logical explanation, but wouldn't his 1/4 mile times be a bit faster than that? like at least a 15.7 to 15.6.

but as far as hondas go you should have any trouble with the stock ones.. maybe the older non mini-van civic si's, the lude v-tech (but not until your in 3rd), and S2000 of course will smoke you.

what i can't understand is how you kept up with the vr6, and the mustang; you should have been at least 10 car links behind with both.

do a compression test and see where your at, maybe your engine is at a 10:1 ratio or something.

his 1/4 time shouldnt be that low since he only has CAI and a muffler......ask 1TuffRS what mods he has i think he's at 15.36 with minor mods.Later

well, i also run a 15.3 @ 91 but i have a few more mods then 1tuffrs, and i belive that he said his secret was that his compression is a bit higher then the stock 420a motor which will make a lot more difference than any minor mod would.

yes, i know it is, but that's what happens when your track is only open a couple of weeks out of the year... oh and that time is with the factory motor not the stroker. i ran out of funds so the stroker still has yet to be put in.

Factory FREAKS, come out alot......... I have a 95 rs n/t (we all know thats the best year), and I can run SI's, GSR's and have even kept ground with a VR6! I have a few mods nothing big but I can still run with some of the faster cars!
I ran this kid in a GSR ... light to light and smoked him! Then I pulled in to the local stereo shop and WELL so did he, he begged and pleaded until I showed him my engine and he was very embaressed that I had only begginer mods and took his TEG! OWNED!!! needless to say when we both left the shop we ran again and to no avail I WON! he may have been a chump driver but hey ......... a "W" is a "W"!!!!!!!!!!!!

haha, well since Ive been part of this little conversation I will share my mods. I have a CAI, 2.5" cat back exhaust, UDP, Jeep TB, and gutted cat. I ran a 15.46, but the track goes uphill at the end and supposedly everyones times are about .1 second slower than they should be, so my car should be capable of a 15.36. Ive got compression #s between 220-225 in all my cylinders, so its a little unusual

When I had just CAI and exhaust, I beat my friends VR6 as well. And it ran 16 flat. Also, I raced a buddy with the EXACT same car, accept he had headers, FPR, fuel pump, and 70 shot of nitrous. When I raced him I abselutely smoked him, he wasnt squeezin when I raced him though. Engine to engine I won, both cars are manual too. Wierd...

my 95 gs is a freak too, it's completely stock and i can whomp on alot of modified non turbo dsm's. Maybe my stick skills own all.. Dunno?

But as far as 5.0 stangs, i dont know if i believe that too much. I can hang dead even with 98 Civic Si's and 98 6 cylinder Stangs but that's about it as far as what this guy is mentioning. my friend jimmy has a VR6 and that thign smoked my a$$hole horribly, well he also has nitrous and all kinda stuff done to it, it's pretty quick for my GS (slow as shit compared to my GSX )

anyways i do believe there are some stock non turbo Freak dsm's out there but i donno about the 5.0 stang thing, maybe the stang driver wasnt trying to race or he only had 1 leg or he didnt change his oil for 7,000 miles

My car can be a freak and a POS all in the same week.......I've noticed if my car is warmed up, I'm running premium gas and I don't have the fan turned on in my car, she'll run with the 3 series beemers, vtec's and some others..I don't know what I can run in the 1/4 mile but I imagine..mid 15's....I have the normal cai, exhaust, header,etc...but the short throw shifter lets me rip through the gears much better than the stock bus/truck shifter......good mod for $179

My point is n/t's can run mid to high 15's very easily.....as far as racing....that's always a crap shoot because there are too many factors that wiegh in like, where, when , what are the conditions, how much gas you have, rolling or stand still, etc.....

Hey, its me....the one that originally posted this thread.

I'm starting to believe my car is a factory freak, because i just recently took the VR6 again. No prob....like 2 car lengths....we raced till about half way through 4th (106mph) and it was a stand still start. And about the Mustang 5.0 hes my friend and weve raced a lot, its a 94 automatic convertible. We race on a side street, not at a stop light, one of our friends gets on and countsdown so the factor that he doesnt know were racing is eliminated. We are seriously dead even every time we race. U can even call me if u dont believe me and talk to witnesses. I raced this integra yesterday, heavy mods, it was an LS, we were dead even also. And my 15.9 1/4 was the first week i got my car, i had no clue how to shift. now im the best driver in town so im sure i can run quicker now...oh ya another car i just raced....a 2003 tiburon GT, we were even till 4th, then he pulled on me a lil....maybe a half a car length. Its kewl tho, when everyone makes fun of my car and how its a bi*** car and all this stuff, and then i just smoke them and send them home makin excuses and all. Its tyte. DSM fo' life
