okay guys looking for some pointers on oil consumption issue. to start off this is NOT a 4g63T engine but a n/t 4G64, which was on its way to becoming turbod untill I ran into a possible rebuild issue. engine has absoulutely no external leaks. cars burning give or take 1/4 quart of oil in a weeks time driving around town everyday. compression test numbers couldnt be better. through a leak down test everything appears to be fine besides some small amount of air coming through the dipstick tube and oil fill cap which i know means piston rings...but car does not have any smoke upon initial start up, or after warmed up at any time durring idle. dont see smoke in drive either. i start to notice that i can smell oil durring heavy acceleration from the engine bay, so today I popped the hood and reved the engine manualy opening the TB. blue smoke starts to appear in the exhaust area and a much bigger puff of blue smoke when I let off the throttle. already planning on a rebuild, but would still like to get an idea of exactly how its burning oil. also the valve cover gasket, along with the spark plug gaskets along with my PCV valve were repalced 6 months ago right when I bought the car. is there anything else I can check ? Its hard to say, but I dont think I have any cracks in the exhaust, even though its the rusty one from the factory. thanks in advance.
