Ok i just sold my whole setup it was the
Super 20G/
Turbonetics manifold
HRC o2 Eliminator---- Still for sale.
It was on the car for 1 1/2 yrs. I ran a best of a 8.2@89 on 18psi.

Well Im looking for a new set up My goals are for at LEAST 370whp on pump gas. But not limited to that I also want a turbo that is going to perform good on the track. Ive been doing extensive research and reading on the NET for my next set up. I know there is a big HYPE for the 50Trim right now. The AGP kit is realy looking good to me right now. I know there has been new information on the PTE 56trim kits being the next best bread of pumpgas monsters, but before i jump on that wagon I'm really looking for advice. Should i just say screw it and go w/ the AGP 60-1 CW, TO4E CH, .63 4-bolt, Stage 3, or look into getting a PTE 56trim internally gated. Im open to any suggestions! I know there has been several post like this so bare w/ me.

Here is my mod list

Daniel,
I just noticed you have the Apexi FMIC. Lose that thing. Major power gains to be had from upgrading to a IRC. I've been upgrading a lot of the local Greddy and Apexi FMIC's to bigger cores with short routed piping. Makes a world of difference. These small import FMIC's are made for small turbo upgrades like T28's and 16g's. Also put a Magnus sheetmetal intake on your tings to do list.

Three main things needed to make a SICK fast 2g.
1. AGP Full Garrett kit
2. IRC FMIC
3. Magnus SM intake

The hard part is getting in touch with Ken to get an IRC FMIC. I've been trying to find one for a week for the 92 Laser. No returned phone calls (3 of em) no returned emails. Looks like I will have to get a buschur just because they will answer the phone.

Magnus SM intake would be awsome, dont I need to upgrade to 1gen head or port my 2gen head. That would really run up the price. I have a 1gen intake manifold sitting at my house, I also have a buddy that is willing to sell me his 1gen head but I dont think i can do that swap all by myself. Its hard gettin help in this small town.Hey thanks again for your help w/ my order.

Yeah it comes with the 1g flange or you can get the mustang flange which is like a 100 bucks more...And they make these inatek mani for either 1st gen and 2nd gen...And it is pricey but worth the price after talking to kevin...you will be happy with it I know I will amd Mlopez is..:thumb:

Magnus also offer an SM intake with the 2G port sizes to fit the 2G head. Tevenor has one on his car and there is a review on here as well.

Really damn ill do a search on it asap. Does it give you the same #s as it does w/ the 1gen head. Whats the price on it. I got 600 to play w/ still.

i say get it from RnR racing. they have a spearco 2-216 2g Race kit that is cheaper than irc and faster. or just try calling spearco give them a drawing and they will make you one. i called spearco and they made me a intercooler from a 2-216 core with IRC style endtanks for 650 plus tax. looks exactly like irc buschur etc etc etc.

How much are you charging to make custom pipes for the IRC. I was also thinking of switching to teh DSM performace intercooler.
The DSM Performance FMIC core flows an amazing 1280CFM and is top/down flow for minimal pressure drop. Overall measures 23.5 x 12.5 x 3 with 2.25 inch inlet and 2.5 inch outlet.
Would i see any gains if i got some shorter routed pipes for my Apex core.

I found a guy w/ a DSMperformance Intercooler, but before i buy his I want to research what would be the best intercooler for my money. He is willing to sell it for 700.00 w/ all the pipes. Should i get this or just hold out for the IRC.

That sounds like a pretty good deal. I know the 216's are pretty bad, but that intercooler you described sounds exactly the same dimensions as the super street kit from RnR (i think). IMO Id go with whats cheaper, however as someone said above you could prolly have piping made for about 150$ and then just get a custom made 216 core for ~650$...800$ for all new stuff aint to bad!

First of all the Magnus 2g intake is $600. Don't bother upgrading to a 1g head or any of that crap. Just your stock 2g head, HKS 272 cams, magnus SM. (Work on getting the cams later, after all this other stuff is done)

DO NOT get the DSMPerf FMIC. It flows better than what you have now but cools worse. Don't waste your time, just upgrade once. I will get you a IRC if you need. Ken answers the phone when I call:) In fact, that may be best. I'll get you the core and make you pipes for it that go to the Magnus SM. I hope I'm not busting your budget but you just have to get all the parts that work right together.
E-mail me.

Kevin

Yeah Austin, I saw you got the 60-1. Nice. That street core is a little small for that. What I was saying is that I would get the comlete FMIC from IRC and build custom pipes. I'm don't really have enough time to be cranking out FMIC's. You should get the magnus SM too. On a big turbo that will free up major power.

Kevin

well thats cool, I talked to Kevin when i ordered my 50 Trim AGP kit. I have enought for the Magnus manifold. Im selling my Apex core for 700 bucks so thats what i will have for my new IC give 100 bucks. How much would the IRC be + your costum pipes. Im really intrested to do all this right! NOW. Im tired of regreting all the stuff i buy. Ive heard that it takes a while to recieve the IRC intercooler. shoot I thought i wasnt going to bust my budget this year but now, 3gran and growing over my budget and i cant stop spending. Let me know and ill call you guys so i can get everything shipped all at once.

Spearco 2-216 intercooler assembly with spearco welded irc/buschur style endtanks 650.
2 1/5" Mandrel Bends 2 45's and 2 90's plus bov flanges in SS 150
polishing another 100 if you want bling bling
connectors and tbolt clamps 100

so your whole kit will range from 900-1000 bux.

you can get the RnR race core kit (exact same as IRC) less downtime and cheaper for 950 instead of 1150. you'll probally get it in 2-4 weeks instead of 1-2 months.

Actually Kevin its a GT-12 (56trim/GT30). But I should have a chunk of change to get one with so if there is time for you to just get a core and you will make your own endtanks then let me know. I already have the piping set from Ken and its a very short route and Id like to keep it. PM me :thumb:

Update..

Well the UPS guy came buy today and dropped off my package from AGP. I ended up getting the AGP : AGP/SFP manifold, TiAL 38, Stainless Steel dump tube, 50 trim stage III .63 A/R, 2.5" Stainless Steel O2
Just want to thank Kevin for all his help and information.
